📋 About This Mod
Mod Overview
This is a dodge framework for Starfield that allows modders to implement dodge mechanics.
(Dodge in GIF is from SFDA - Dodge Animations)
The framework features fully customizable dodge speed and distance, hotkey support, invulnerability frames, and support to trigger animations.
Default Dodge Settings
As animation modding in Starfield is still in its infancy, current options are limited. This mod by default features a 'floaty' dash as the dodge.
Within the FOMOD, you can pick between a long-range dash and a short-distance dodge:
-
[]Default Dodge Keybind is Left Alt OR Double Tapping the Sprint Key[/]
[]Default cost is 40 Oxygen[/]
[]Controllers are supported.[/]
Booster-based dodge coming soon (after I fix the landing):
Customization
Everything about the dodge can be changed in DodgeFramework.ini
-
[]Set the Hotkey Binding[/]
[]Configure console commands triggered at the start and end of a dodge (used for triggering animations)[/]
[]Set the cost of dodging using any actor value (such as Oxygen or Starpower)[/]
[]Adjust invulnerability frame duration[/]
[]Customize dodge speed, duration, and animation speed[/]
[]Optional perk requirement to enable dodging[/]
[]Have a sound play when dodge is triggered[/]
1. Install this mod's requirements:
-
[]Address Library for SFSE Plugins[/]
[]Baka Console EditorIDs[/]
Acknowledgements
Much of the SFSE code was adapted from mods created by MeridianoRus, specifically: Papyrus Ini Manipulator, Slow Time SFSE, Console Command Runner Updated, and Rename Console Command.
Their work is excellent and was invaluable in the development of this mod.

[]Set the Hotkey Binding[/]
Adds a fully customizable dodge framework to Starfield via SFSE. Players get a dash or dodge with adjustable speed, distance, invulnerability frames, and cost (default 40 Oxygen, keybind Left Alt or double-tap sprint). Aimed at combat-focused players and modders wanting to trigger custom animations. Standout: deep INI customization and strong community adoption (96 endorsements, 33,820 downloads).
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community traction: 96 endorsements and 33,820 downloads shows real usage
- Deep customization: tweak speed, distance, i-frames, cost, and even bind console commands to dodge start/end
- Controller support and double-tap sprint make it feel like a native mechanic
⚠️ Cons
- Default dodge is a 'floaty' dash — feels less polished until animation mods mature
- Booster-based dodge still 'coming soon', so not all movement styles are available yet
- Requires two extra mods (Address Library and Baka Console EditorIDs) before it works
For Starfield players who find vanilla combat too static and want a fast, customizable dodge without waiting for official support. Ideal for modders who can hook custom animations into the framework. Skip if you want flashy dodge animations out of the box — the default is simple and floaty.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Install Address Library and Baka Console EditorIDs first, then use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to avoid file conflicts.
- Edit DodgeFramework.ini to change the keybind or oxygen cost — start with a lower cost if you dodge often.
- Try both FOMOD options (long-range dash vs short dodge) to see which suits your playstyle, since the default dash is floaty.
