📋 About This Mod

Introduction:

The Elder Scrolls games have featured a variety of vampiric clans, bloodlines and strains, with many more listed in the lore. However, the only vampires that can be encountered in Skyrim are the Volkihar. This mod aims to change that by replacing the generic vampire enemies with vampires from different Bloodlines, each with their own looks, abilities and lore.

Note:

Due to the way the game remembers NPCs that have already been spawned, this mod will work best with a new game. You CAN install it in the middle of a playthrough and it shouldn't break anything, but depending on the amount of exploration you have done and the quests you have started, you may still encounter vanilla vampires in dungeons which should be populated by new vampires. I have created placeholder NPCs for all the unfinished vampire dungeons so you won't run into this issue every time the mod gets updated.

If you install the mod in the middle of a playthrough, resetting cell interiors with the console can help refresh dungeons with the new vampires. To reset the cells, get to an indoor location, open the console and type in these lines:

setgs iHoursToRespawnCell 1

setgs iHoursToRespawnCellCleared 1

Wait in-game for two hours, then open the console again and input these lines to restore the settings to their default value:

setgs iHoursToRespawnCell 240

setgs iHoursToRespawnCellCleared 720

This doesn't always work for me, but apparently it does for many others, so it's worth a try.

Features:

Six out of ten vampire lairs have been repopulated by vampires from this mod:

  • []Vampires from Clan Orlok can be found in Pinemoon Cave and Haemar's Shame.

[]Revenants have taken up residence in Shriekwind Bastion and Broken Fang Cave.

  • Vargr packs have occupied Mara's Eye Den and the Moldering Ruins.

    Compatibility:

This mod does not modify player vampirism, vampire perks, or the Vampire Lord power in any way. This makes it compatible with vampire overhauls that affect the player.

This mod does not make any changes to Volkihar vampires, Castle Volkihar, or the Dawnguard questline. This makes it compatible with any mods that alter Castle Volkihar or Volkihar NPCs (e.g. Serana or Harkon replacers).

I have uploaded an optional file for players who want to use Vampire Clans and Bloodlines alongside Better Vampire NPCs. This is an alternate version of the mod, not a patch. Install the main file first, then the optional file. Vampire Clans and Bloodlines should be placed lower in your load order than Better Vampire NPCs.
