📋 About This Mod
This is a very small edit to the Pseudo Physical Weapon Collision and Parry AE SE VR mod by zxl381. It disables the ability to parry with bows and makes it slightly easier to parry with daggers and fists by elongating their reach a little. That might make their effective reach a little bit longer than what the model would suggest, but not by much. YMMV.
Note that you might still be parrying some projectiles with your bow. This is due to the HIGGS projectile block. You can disable it in the HIGGS ini if that's a problem for you - search for the spoofProjectileWeaponHitsAsIfBlocked setting.

For mod authors, I've added an optional version that, on top of the tweaks listed above, also casts a spell on the player whenever he successfully parries. The spell is found in the PPParryTweaks.esp. You can modify it with xedit to do whatever you want.
The example plugin given lets the player regain 6 stamina per rank of the Shield Wall vanilla block perk after each successful parry.
A small tweak to Pseudo Physical Weapon Collision and Parry for Skyrim VR that removes bow parrying and extends dagger/fist parry reach slightly. Includes an optional plugin that casts a spell on successful parries, with an example granting stamina based on Shield Wall perk ranks. 33 endorsements, updated September 2025.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tightens up parry balance by removing bow parries, which felt cheesy
- Makes dagger and fist parries more forgiving with a slightly longer reach
- Mod authors get a bonus: the optional spell-casting version is a neat hook for custom effects
⚠️ Cons
- Only 33 endorsements, so it's a niche tweak that hasn't been widely vetted
- The reach extension might make parries look a bit off since it's longer than the model suggests
- Compatibility risk with other VR combat mods that alter parry mechanics or HIGGS settings
For Skyrim VR players who use the original Pseudo Physical Weapon Collision and Parry mod and want to fine-tune parry behavior. Also for mod authors looking to add custom parry effects via the spell-casting version. Skip if you're happy with the default parry setup or don't play VR.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using HIGGS and want to stop bow projectile blocking entirely, edit the HIGGS ini and set spoofProjectileWeaponHitsAsIfBlocked to false.
- For the optional spell-casting version, load the PPParryTweaks.esp and use xEdit to tweak the spell effect to your liking.
- Make sure this mod loads after the original Pseudo Physical Weapon Collision and Parry mod so the tweaks apply correctly.
