📋 About This Mod
I love the idea of passive blocking but didnt like the amount of scripting true armor had. So I looked into how it was implemented and designed my own version of it.
----- Completely reworked in the new update -----
-Changed Keywords to be more compatible, should now work well with other keyword distribution mods to make it compatible with everything.
-Angles and conditions are much cleaner now. Will proc much more often if hit on the shield (Recommend precision for this)
-Can no longer proc while staggered
-Requires a certain amount of stamina to proc (does not consume)
-fixed Adamant version
-attacking now how a much more narrow block angle

Two ranks - one at block 30 and one at 60
Heavy shield (30) 50% chance to proc while standing with shield out, 30% chance to block while attacking, 50% damage reduction, requires 50 stam.
Heavy Shield (60) 70% chance to proc while standing with shield out, 50% chance to block while attacking, 70% damage reduction, requires 30 stam.
Light shield (30) 60% chance to proc while standing with shield out, 50% chance to block while attacking, 25% damage reduction, requires
Light Shield (60) 90% chance to proc while standing with shield out, 75% chance to block while attacking, 50% damage
reduction, requires 1 stam.
Adamant version requires Gladiator 10/50 instead of Block 30/60
Game play design -- Light shields are extremely reliable blocking in all situations and require less stamina to do so, Heavy shields block much more damage but less reliably and require more stamina. Damage reduction will still be less than blocking regularly and has a much narrower angle to block.

- Damage reduction is still lower than regular blocking, so you're trading reliability for convenience—you'll take more chip damage than if you just held block.
- The block angle while attacking is much narrower, so you can't just swing wildly and expect to block everything—timing and positioning matter.
- It's a niche mod with only 29 endorsements, so you're relying on the author's testing rather than a huge community of users to iron out edge cases.
For Skyrim players who want a more passive, hands-off blocking style without the scripting overhead of True Armor. If you're a shield user who hates holding block constantly or wants to weave attacks and blocks seamlessly, this is for you. Skip if you prefer active blocking mechanics or want a mod with a larger user base and more polish.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using Precision, the mod recommends it for better proc detection—so grab that mod if you want the most consistent blocking.
- Pair this with a stamina management mod or perks that boost stamina regen, since the stamina requirement can be a gate early on.
- For the Adamant version, make sure you have the Adamant perk overhaul installed and that your load order places this mod after it.
