📋 About This Mod
This is NOT compatible with anything other than Lux, it is NOT compatible with Window Shadows Ultimate. It IS compatible with CS Lights if you choose the correct fomod options.
Tone mapping, Image Space and full on ISL edit for Lux Lighting, using Community Shaders and SKSE.
This makes use of the more advanced HDR tonemapping included in Community Shaders. It is required for the tonemapping to work. Similar changes are included in True Light
Lux is and always will be one of the best lighting mods for Skyrim, I've heard people asking for a "conversion" for a long time, so hopefully this helps.
Changes include:
Edited Bloom
Fixed bloom in the Lux image spaces to solve glowing skin/etc in bright scenes.
Eye Adaptation
Edited eye adaptation since Lux is for ENB mainly and ENB handles eye adaptation on its own, these changes were needed for CS
SKSE Plugin
An SKSE plugin that allows coverage for ISL across all Lux plugins. Auto patches your lux patches, lux via and orbis. Please read the FOMOD for pros and cons.
Installation
:
You can choose any of these options, I personally use these when using Community Shaders
You do not need the optimized meshes in the first step of the FOMOD when using the Light Limit Fix with Community Shaders
For Lux Orbis you need to keep all meshes with a "Lux" prefix. The rest can be removed.
Compatibility:
Not compatible with other lighting mods, not compatible with ALTM, possibly weird outcome with DIAL as well but probably fine.
Requirements:
Community Shaders and of course Lux
Varying levels of brightness\darkness can be included depending on user request.
Lux CS is a tonemapping and image space edit designed for Lux and Community Shaders, adding light placer support. With nearly 6,000 endorsements and 250,000 downloads, it's a popular visual enhancement for Skyrim modders seeking improved lighting and color grading.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge download count (249,963) shows this is a go-to for Lux users
- Actively maintained — last updated August 2026
- Light placer support means you can fine-tune lighting placement without conflicts
⚠️ Cons
- Requires Lux and Community Shaders — not for vanilla setups
- Tonemapping edits can be subjective — you might need to tweak settings to match your taste
For Skyrim modders who already run Lux and Community Shaders and want a polished, cohesive look. If you're not using those mods, skip this — it won't do anything for you. Perfect for visual enthusiasts who want that extra layer of color grading.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Lux and Community Shaders installed first, then drop Lux CS into your mod manager and place it after them in the load order.
- If you use ENB, this mod may conflict — test it with your ENB preset or consider disabling ENB's tonemapping.
- Use the light placer support to adjust individual light sources in-game for the best results.
