📋 About This Mod
SSE/AE/VR version of Crash Logger. See original for more details.
Crash logs are located in "Documents\My Games\\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE" or "Documents\My Games\Skyrim VR\SKSE"
I've built this from FudgyDuff's latest source under MIT. This includes additional improvements over the original including:
-
[]PDB parsing (debug dll CTDs if PDB provided by mod author). By default, it will search the plugin directory. Symcache directory can be specified using the `symcache` key.[/]
[]Additional Skyrim object introspection. (i.e., additional detail about objects).[/]
[]Option to upload crash logs to Pastebin. (Developer key needed) (Instructions in Crashlogger.ini.)[/]
[]Open logs automatically on creation.[/]
[]Hotkey for thread dump log (useful for hang debugging) (advanced users).[/]
[]Minidump support (these are large files for advanced developers). Use Windbg or other tools.[/]
You can only have one Crash Logger active at a time including NetScriptFramework (disable crash dumps in the config).

✅ Pros

- Works across SSE, AE, and VR, so you're covered no matter which version you play.
- PDB support means mod authors can give you more detailed crash info, making troubleshooting easier.
⚠️ Cons
- As a port, it may have version-specific quirks depending on your game build.
- Crash logs can be technical and overwhelming for casual users.
- Compatibility risk: may conflict with other crash logging tools or mods that alter the same systems.
This is for modders and players who frequently crash and need to pinpoint the cause. It's also essential for mod authors who want to distribute PDB files for better crash reports. If you're tired of vague CTDs and want actionable data, this is for you.
💡 Beginner Tips
- After a crash, check the generated log for the 'Probable call stack' section to see which mod might be involved.
- If you're a mod author, include PDB files with your mod to help users get more detailed logs.
- Use the log to search for specific mod names or DLLs to identify conflicts.
