Immersive Reading

Overview

A complete real-time reading system for books and notes. It does not replace original UI reading, so you still can read books through menu.

In addition, I think that some world book models looks too huge in VR, so the size have been adjusted: BookTall size reduced by 20%.

Compatibility

  []Fonts supports EN, RU, DE game languages. For ES, FR, PL, CN download optional font file and set DefaultFont in ImmersiveReading.ini[/]

  []Compatible with any book. For books added by other mods, the default book model will used in reading mode.[/]

Controls

By default you can enter to reading mode if you grab a book via Trigger button, Grip button remains for Higgs grab.

While in reading mode, use controller buttons to interact with the book:

• []Left trigger - press or hold 1 sec to close book. Press to flip page back.[/]

  []Right trigger - press to open book, flip page front.[/]

  []Grip - press to drop the book or hold to return to normal HIGGS grab. Press grip over your shoulder to add the book to inventory.[/]

You can also use physical ← gestures →  with free hand. Simply swipe from left to right or right to left over the book, or up and down over the note to interact.

Configure

 (optional)

ImmersiveReading.ini:

• []ReadingMode= Change reading mode button. Trigger by default, or Grip.[/]

  []DropReadingHand= Specify hand for dropped books from inventory. Right hand by default.[/]

  []DetectionRange= gestures detection range over the book. ↓ Lower = requires closer hand movement. ↑ Higher = for farther detection.[/]

  []SpeedThreshold= gesture speed required. ↓ Lower = more sensitive, slow gestures counted. ↑ Higher = stricter, requires faster gestures.[/]
