📋 About This Mod

Are you tired of hearing the same three lines from generic hunters and fishermen that you encounter in the wild? Well, be tired no longer. This mod greatly expends several aspects of their dialogue.

Brief Overview of the Mod

  • []Adds hello and goodbye lines to four voice types[/]

[]Adds idle lines where hunters call out what they have for sale, dependant on their actual inventory[/]

[]New 'notice corpse' dialogue when encountering dead animals[/]

[]New combat lines including, attack, hit, taunts and alert dialogue[/]

    []Special dialogue for fishermen[/]

[]Special dialogue for the skinny-dipping hunters encountered at the camp near Eldergleam Sanctuary[/]

Detailed Description

The mod adds more than 140 new lines of dialogue to the four voice types (Male Nord, Female Nord, Male Commoner, Female Commoner) that can be assigned to hunters that randomly spawn, as well as special lines for the two fishermen voice types (Male Nord, Male Commoner).

The lines are lore friendly and the majority are 'hello' lines that will be said when approaching the NPC. Some will only be said at certain times of day or when there is a certain type of weather.

There are also several 'goodbye' lines, plus several idle dialogue lines where the hunter will announce what they have for sale. This is based on their inventory so they will only tell you what they actually have (vanilla items only).

I've also added some combat lines, they will comment on being hit by specific animals and make taunts to specific animals or just generic lines when entering combat with animals they hunt.

When they encounter a dead animal they may make a comment specific to the type of animal found, or a more generic one.

Fishermen also have special dialogue in line with their profession.

I've also added unique dialogue for the hunters that you encounter at the so-called 'Jacuzzi Camp' near Eldergleam Sanctuary.

See the video for examples of the dialogue added by the mod.

Installation

Install like any other mod using your favourite mod manager. It is safe to install mid-game. There are no scripts or special quests so it's probably safe to uninstall mid-game.

Compatibility

Should be compatible with anything. If you have mods that change the voice types of hunters to anything other than the four covered by the mod, they won't say the new lines. Mods that add new hunters and/or fishermen should have the dialogue as long as the mod author has put them in the relevant faction(s).

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Chattier Hunters and Fishermen adds over 140 new lines of dialogue to four voice types for hunters and fishermen in Skyrim, including hello/goodbye lines, idle sales calls based on inventory, combat lines, and special dialogue for fishermen and skinny-dipping hunters. It's a lore-friendly immersion mod for players who want more variety in NPC interactions.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 448 endorsements and over 12k downloads, so it's proven to work well.
  • Adds a ton of variety (140+ lines) without breaking immersion—everything is lore-friendly.
  • The inventory-based sales calls are a clever touch that makes hunters feel more alive.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only covers hunters and fishermen, so other NPC types still repeat the same old lines.
  • Since it relies on voice types, mods that change those voices might conflict.
  • No compatibility patches mentioned, so you might need to test with other dialogue mods.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who love immersion and hate hearing the same three lines from every hunter. If you're a completionist who explores every corner, this mod makes random encounters feel fresh. Skip if you're on a potato PC—dialogue mods are lightweight, but this is purely cosmetic.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure to load this mod after other dialogue mods to avoid conflicts.
  • If you use a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to keep things clean.
  • Test near a hunter camp to hear the new lines—fast travel to Eldergleam Sanctuary to find the skinny-dippers.
