📋 About This Mod
First off, I love Capital Windhelm Expansion. It really adds some of that feeling I get when I look at Skyrim concept art.
However, I've found a problem in the navmesh around the new docks added by CWE:
It seems like they never edited the NavMesh past the bridge on this side. As far as I can tell, none of the existing bug fixes touch this.
So, using Rob's Bug Fixes, I've done my best to correct the navmesh to now look like this:
Much more navigable.
Anyways, this will need patched with everything that touches the same cells. I've patched a few mods that I personally use. Feel free to use/build/add on to this fix as you see fit!
And let me know if there is something I can improve: I do not have much experience in NavMesh.
Requirements:
Capital Windhelm Expansion (non-CRF version ONLY!)
Rob's Bug Fixes - Capital Windhelm Expansion
Recommended:
Capital Windhelm Expansion Bug fixes
Capital Windhelm Expansion - Collision Fixes
Optional Patches:
Skyking Windhelm Bridge - simply patches my edits with Skyking's bridge. Do NOT use the CWE patch from Skyking's page, you don't need it.
Realistic Nord Ships - patches the NavMesh edits to work with CWE and my fixes. Does NOT change the model of the ship added to the new docks (I personally prefer the variety.) Not needed for DK's Realistic Nord Ships Lite - Selected Variants Only.
Combo Patches:
CWE - Realistic Nord Ships - Skyking Windhelm Bridge Patch - forwards my fixes with Realistic Nord Ships navmesh edits and Skyking's new bridge. Do not use the individual patches with this one.
CWE - Realistic Nord Ships - Skyking Windhelm Bridge - Hidden Hideouts Cities - Merged Patch
Made specifically for the Deep Immersion version of Hidden Hideouts Cities Merged, may work with other versions. Edits the positions of both trapdoors so they're accessible. Removes other clutter from the interior, as it conflicts with a stall added by CWE. NOT made for the Modular version of Hidden Hideouts!
If you use Skyking's Windhelm Bridge but don't want the merchants, I've also made a patch that removes them here.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fixes a real issue for CWE users—broken NPC pathfinding at the docks.
- Recently updated (April 2026), so it's likely compatible with current CWE versions.
- Community-tested with 125 endorsements and 36k downloads.
⚠️ Cons
- Only fixes one specific area—if you don't use CWE, this mod is useless.
- No details on which mods are patched, so you might not need them.
- Potential compatibility risk with other mods that alter Windhelm's docks or NavMesh.
For Skyrim players who use Capital Windhelm Expansion and have noticed NPCs getting stuck or walking oddly at the new docks. If you're not using CWE, skip this—it's a targeted fix. Also useful if you run other mods that might conflict with CWE's docks.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Capital Windhelm Expansion installed before adding this fix.
- Load this mod after CWE in your load order to ensure the NavMesh patch applies correctly.
- If you use other Windhelm overhaul mods, test the docks area for any new pathfinding issues.
