Better Hearthfire Intro Letter

Have you ever found it awkward that Jarl Siddgeir is raving about your widespread renown and inviting you to become Thane of Falkreath when you've maybe killed one camp of bandits on the other end of the continent and smushed a handful of frostbite spiders? If you have, you've come to the right place.

This is an extremely small (esl-flagged) mod that adjusts the text of both of the two possible letters that you are sent welcoming you to purchase land in Falkreath Hold (a.k.a. the "oh hey Hearthfire exists now" alert that you got upon downloading that DLC in Oldrim that you now get at like level nine or something). Now rather than gushing with praise for the Dragonborn, these letters are framed as though they are being distributed widely to travelers and mercenaries of all sorts who are invited to prove their worthiness to the jarl in order to potentially earn the rank of thane and thus the right to purchase land in his hold.

There are three versions you can download:

• []MAIN - rewrites the letters completely to suit a more general audience.

  []VANILLA - keeps the bulk of the core phrasing and just re-addresses the letters to generalized recipients.

• DUMB - do you like Deadpool? That's the vibe. This is the letter that everyone's favorite mouthy, unkillable pansexual merc would get...or write.

  Compatibility:

  Changes nothing but the text of two items: BYOHHouseJarlIntroLetter (xx016130) and BYOHHouseJarlFriendLetter (xx0030a1) so it should be compatible with basically everything unless some other mod also changes those items.

  I recall seeing a mod that did this before, but cannot find the link again now. I never installed it because I found the phrasing somewhat lacking, but nonetheless credit is due to the originator of that mod for inspiring the idea of writing my own version(s). (If you know the link to that mod, I will gladly include it here as another option for those who may prefer it.)

  Legendary Version?

  Nope. Because I do not currently own a copy of Skyrim: Legendary Edition I cannot make the necessary esp file for backporting purposes. That said, this mod literally does nothing but change the text of two existing letters so it should be a simple matter of loading it into the CK and resaving it in the correct form -- or even just copy/pasting the new text into some other existing LE mod to save yourself the plugin slot. Feel free!
