System Shock 2 Remaster and Classic (1999) Vortex Extension

This extension adds System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster AND System Shock 2 (1999) modding support to Vortex Mod Manager. Supports Steam, GOG, and Epic. Converts legacy SS2 mods for the Remaster.

The classic (1999) and 25th Anniversary Remaster (2025) versions from Steam and GOG are all supported, as well as the Epic Remaster version. Other versions may need to select the install location manually.

Mod Installation Notes:

Remaster:

• []Installs .kpf mods to the "mods" folder.

  []Legacy SS2 mods with recognizable folders and file extensions will be converted to .kpf format automatically. System Shock 2 is listed as a compatible download domain.

  []Mods with a "mods" or "cutscenes" folder will install to the game's root folder.

  []All mods not described above will fallback install to the game's root folder.

• []Prompts the user to download and run the SS2Tool installer on first startup (enables modding and installs Blue Mod Manager).

  []Installs mods with recognizable folders and file extensions to a 'DMM' folder. Blue Mod Manager is then used to complete the installation of mods and launch the game.

  []Launches the game via Blue Mod Manager (installed by SS2Tool).

  []Installs other mods to game root folder.

  Usage Notes:

  • You can open several useful folders and files using the folder icon on the Mods page toolbar.
