Dead Space 2 Vortex Extension

Manage Dead Space 2 mods with Vortex.

This standalone extension adds Dead Space 2 to Vortex and deploys compatible mods

to the game folder beside deadspace2.exe. It does not require the Dead Space (2008)

extension and does not include any gameplay mods.

Installation

1. Download the extension ZIP.

2. In Vortex, open Extensions and drop the ZIP into the extension installation

area, or choose Install From File if your version offers it.

3. Restart Vortex.

4. Find Dead Space 2 in Games and choose Manage.

5. If required, set its location to the folder containing deadspace2.exe and

DS2DAT0. DAT.

6. Keep your mod staging folder on the same drive as the game for hardlink

deployment. Install a compatible mod, enable it, and deploy.

Install this ZIP as an extension, not as a regular game mod. For manual extension

installation, see the included README.

TexMod

TPF textures deploy to the TexMod Packages folder inside the game directory.

TexMod is still required to inject those textures. Select the desired packages

in TexMod and follow the mod author's launch instructions. TexMod is a separate

download and is not included or automated here.

Compatibility and limits

This extension manages files. It does not merge conflicting DLLs or data archives,

run executable patchers, edit saves, or make every mod compatible with every store

version. Follow each mod author's requirements. Packages containing alternative

versions need the desired variant selected before deployment. Windows folder

permissions and deployment are handled by Vortex.
