This collection was assembled using the Movie Genre Workshop XXL and Movie Genre Expansion and features 5738 REAL TITLES across 18 genres from the time period 1900-1989 with cover art. It also features 388 NEW RELEASES from the period 1990-1995 with standees and cover art.

Notes on some genres:

To make the catalogue more interesting I decided NOT to use the Music genre for musicals and instead to devote that to live performance and music documentaries. I did the same with sport. That features sports and athletics, documentaries about said, and professional wrestling. Musicals and Sports movies can be found in their primary genres instead.

History features historical films, that being biopics and films about specific real historical events. The way I judged it was approximately - a film that's set during WWII isn't necessarily a history film. A film that's about the D-Day Landings is. I can't promise that every movie sticks to that hard and fast but I tried my best.

I tried to stick to what I judged to be the primary genre as much as possible. For me, a comedy film with action elements is still primarily a comedy. A horror film with some fantasy elements is still a horror. For ones that were unclear I just used my best judgment.

This mod will be tagged NSFW because about 20-ish% of the Adult titles feature explicit cover art. Some of those are very explicit. You have been warned. (I usually tried to avoid that and use the most aesthetic artwork I could find but many left little choice).

Every title from 1975 back is considered old. There are approximately 2000 titles that fall under that definition, 214 of which are Limited Editions.

This might be the final update I do of this pack unless I really feel like I find something is missing.

Installation instructions

Download the file

Extract it

Move the .pak file to:

...\RetroRewind\Content\Paks\~mods

Do not combine this with other movie database mods, conflicts & errors are possible.

!!IMPORTANT!!

If you have already started a new game with the previous version of this pack, continuing with this will break it. But you don't have to give up your save. Download the Movie Genre Workshop XXL, linked below. It has a mod extractor and a savegame editor. I haven't used the extractor myself, but the savegame editor has been a blessing during this process. It's a great tool. DO NOT MISS THIS STEP: Once you've extracted the mod and edited your savefile to fix all conflicts, ship to store so that those changes are reflected when you load up your game

If you haven't already started with the previous version or you don't mind staring anew, have at it.

I haven't made this collection for anyone but me. I hope others find it enjoyable and useful but don't expect me to make sweeping changes to correct things you don't like. I'll be using this in my own game so it'll always conform to my own needs/wishes first
