📋 About This Mod
All about immersion, focus on the game world instead of those crazy big HUD elements
When watching pics above in the pic browser click the little squares icon at bottom left to remove the pic scroll bar otherwise it obstructs too much of the pics themselves and you won't see the main differences between pics
(that scroll bar, just like RE4's HUD is ridiculously big, unbelievable design decisions)
First backup the 3 files that will be overwritten (core.udas.lfs in BIO4/Etc folder and 07000000.pack.lfs in both BIO4/ImagePack and BIO4/ImagePackHD folders) then just copy the mod folder in your main RE4 folder (merge with BIO4 folder and 3 mod files should land in correct folders automatically).
Uninstall by simply replacing the 3 mod files with backups again, if you lost the backup files you can also always just on Steam click 'verify integrity of game files' and it should redownload and install any missing or changed files (but this reverts all of the game to default so will probably also reset any other mods you may have installed).
For QTE's where the green A button appears you also have to press blue X button simultaneously. X button is not indicated in QTE's as it's disabled by the mod because besides QTE's it otherwise appears on screen all the time for nearly any action (Take, Open, Climb etc) and that's what the mod aims to remove (the endless, needless button prompts).
If it's a 'mash this button repeatedly' QTE, for example a sprinting section', then it's a singular button (so not A and X simultaneously), if it shows A only mash A, if it doesn't show any button mash X.
Immersive HUD - RE4 UHD removes intrusive button and text prompts like 'Check', 'Push', 'Open', and 'Jump Over' from Resident Evil 4, keeping only unique object descriptions. It aims to reduce HUD clutter for a more immersive experience. With 10 endorsements and recent updates, it's a simple UI tweak for players tired of repetitive prompts.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Finally, no more 'Press X' spam after the first few times—cleans up the screen nicely.
- Keeps the object descriptions, so you don't lose useful info while decluttering.
- Simple and effective; does exactly what it says without breaking other UI elements.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 10 endorsements, so it's not widely tested—might have hidden issues on some setups.
- Last updated in November 2024, but no guarantee it works with the latest game patches.
- Could be incompatible with other UI mods that alter prompts or HUD elements.
This is for players who are tired of seeing the same button prompts over and over and want a cleaner HUD. It's also great for immersion-focused players who prefer minimal on-screen distractions. If you're new to the game, you might want to keep the prompts until you learn the controls.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're new to RE4, consider playing without this mod until you memorize the button prompts.
- Make sure to check if you have other UI mods installed, as they might conflict with this one.
- After installing, test the first few minutes of gameplay to ensure prompts are removed as expected.
