Missing loot on your map, and how to get it

What it does

Remnant 2 hides a lot of its gear, and a good part of it depends on what your world rolled. Wayfarer marks what you're still missing on the game's own map and tells you how to get it.

• []Items you don't have are marked orange: rings, amulets, weapons, armor, mutators, relics, fragments, engrams, and the materials for gear you're missing.[/]

  []Rewards that aren't lying on the ground (NPC gifts, boss drops, puzzle rewards, relics on racks) get a marker at the NPC, boss or rack.[/]

  []The zone you're in gets a green marker near you for what belongs to the whole area, like zone traits.[/]

  []Within 20 m of you, marked things also get the game's objective pointer on the map.[/]

  []Only explored areas are marked by default, so the fog still decides what you see. You can turn that off in the settings.[/]

  Hints or full steps

  Click a marker to pin a card with the item's picture and how to get it. By default it's a short hint, so nothing gets spoiled that you didn't ask for. Switch to full guides in the settings (or Ctrl + Alt + H) for step by step directions, including costs and anything you need first. There are over 600 guides.

  NOT OBTAINED

  A button at the top right of the map lists everything your current world still has for you, by type, with counts. Ctrl + Alt + L opens it too.

  Languages

  Follows the game's language: English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Português (Brasil), Русский, 简体中文, 繁體中文. Item and place names are the game's own.

  Settings

  Wayfarer adds a HUB tab to the Esc menu, next to SYSTEM and built from the game's own menu pieces. From there you can:

  • []switch Wayfarer on and off (Ctrl + Alt + W)[/]

    []choose hints or full guides[/]

    []turn the reward markers and the pointers on or off[/]

    []switch on Clear fog of war to see every marker right away[/]

    Multiplayer

    Works solo and in co-op. Everything is drawn on your screen only and based on your own inventory; nothing is sent to other players. Playing as a guest should work too, but I haven't been able to test that yet, so feedback is welcome.

    Your save

    Wayfarer doesn't change anything that gets saved. Turning it off puts the map back the way it was, and removing it leaves nothing behind. Keeping a backup of your saves is still a good habit with any mod.

    Installation

    • []Install Narknon's Allow Asset Mods first.[/]

      []Extract the zip into Steam\steamapps\common\Remnant2 (the folder with Remnant2.exe). Make sure you extract the "Remnant2" folder from the zip, so the files end up in Remnant2\Content\Paks\LogicMods.[/]

      []Start the game and open the Esc menu. You should see a HUB tab with Wayfarer switched on.[/]

      Update: overwrite the files.

      Uninstall: delete the RemnantWayfarer files from Remnant2\Content\Paks\LogicMods. Settings are kept in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Remnant2\Saved\RemnantWayfarer.
