📋 About This Mod

This mod changes all types of bullet wounds(knife wounds too) to a smaller size. The wounds in my opinion look better like this because it was kind of weird shooting someone with a revolver and 10% of their body was taken up by huge ass hole (gta reference?) so I just changed them to become smaller

INSTALLATION

drag the "lml" folder into your main directory for rdr2 (RDR2.exe is located here) and just play the game

ADDITONAL INFO

This mod is not compatible with:

WhyEm's Bloodlust

Improvements In Blood

instead, find "vfxbloodinfo.ymt" in their mod and replace it with mine.

(you could also just put my file further down in the load order for lml)

If you want to make the body wounds your own size I have posted a guide in the articles section on how to change the size of the wounds.

FUTURE PLANS

-making a video for better comparison between the mod and vanilla (not sure if this is coming but its not out of the question)

-finding a way to adjust exit wounds, in this game it would be 100x more realistic and logical if the textures and decals were swapped for entry and exit wounds, exit wounds most of the time are bigger than the entry wounds, especially with headshots. (the game seems to have this reversed)

-apply size and better apperance consistency between npcs, player and animal wounds

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

A simple cosmetic tweak that reduces the size of all bullet wounds in the game. With 203 endorsements and nearly 9,000 downloads, it's a niche fix for players who find the default bullet holes too large. Last updated in May 2024.

✨ Key Features

Reduces the size of all bullet wounds in-game.
Simple cosmetic change with no gameplay alterations.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Tiny mod that does exactly what it says—no bloat, just smaller bullet holes.
  • Decent community traction (203 endorsements, 8,930 downloads) for such a niche tweak.
  • Lightweight and unlikely to impact performance.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only affects bullet wound size—if you wanted more visual overhauls, this won't cut it.
  • May conflict with other mods that alter bullet impact effects or textures.
  • Last updated in May 2024, so compatibility with the latest game patches isn't guaranteed.
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who find the default bullet wounds too exaggerated and want a more subtle visual effect. If you're into realism or just prefer less gore, this is a quick fix. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or more comprehensive visual overhauls.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's a simple file replacement, just drop the mod files into your game's data folder or use a mod manager.
  • If you're using other visual mods, test this one last to ensure it doesn't override their effects.
  • Check the mod's comments section for any reported conflicts with popular texture packs.
