📋 About This Mod
This file changes the in-game weapon wheel and weapon icons to match the original textures from the 2010 title. It also chanegs the weapon names to match the RDR1 weapon names.
Installation has been made very simple for you.
Open the Classic Weapons and Icons folder, then drag the "lml" folder into your RDR2 directory. This saves you the trouble of having to open folders on your own and dragging things in manually. And no, this will not fully overwrite your lml folder, it will only add in the files from this mod.
I may add more updates to this file over time, such as making the inventory selection area have the RDR1 wheel as well, plus original tonic icons, bandana icons, camp icons, kit icons and more.
I'm giving thanks to weebletron for handing his weapon wheel mod over to me to complete, and thanks to GuiCORLEONEx794 for supplying the wheel + selection texture, fist texture and varmint rifle texture.
Classic Weapon Wheel and Icons restores the RDR1-style weapon wheel, weapon icons, and weapon names in Red Dead Redemption 2. This UI overhaul is for players who want a nostalgic touch from the 2010 original. It includes a simple drag-and-drop installation and has 390 endorsements.

- Brings back the classic RDR1 look for weapon wheel and icons, perfect for nostalgia seekers.
- Install is a breeze—just drag and drop the lml folder, no manual file hunting.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2021, so it might not be compatible with the latest RDR2 patches or mod loaders.
- Only covers the weapon wheel and icons for now; other UI elements like tonics and camp icons are still pending.
- Potential conflicts with other UI mods that modify the same lml files, so check your mod list.
For RDR2 players who loved the original Red Dead Redemption and want that classic weapon wheel aesthetic back. If you're into UI overhauls and don't mind a bit of nostalgia, this is for you. Skip if you prefer the modern RDR2 UI or want a full UI replacement.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have a mod loader like Lenny's Mod Loader installed, as this mod uses the 'lml' folder structure.
- Drag the entire 'lml' folder into your RDR2 root directory, not just the contents, to avoid overwriting existing mods.
- If you're using other UI mods, install this one last to ensure its files take priority.
