Cab Sync

Summary

Railroader Cab Sync is a Unity Mod Manager add-on that bridges dual-cab diesel locomotives so rear-cab radial controls drive the same throttle, reverser, train brake, independent brake, and horn simulation as the front cab. 

Players install and enable the mod once in UMM; any locomotive pack that ships a CabSync folder containing settings.xml is picked up automatically when the game loads, with no extra player setup. Content authors add CabSync/settings.xml beside their mod data, list one or more Identifier elements matching Definitions.json locomotive identifiers (or omit them to target every identifier found in the pack’s Definitions.json files), and define Mirror entries that map each control role to the rear cab RadialAnimatedControl GameObject name from definitions. Optional invert01 corrects reversed rear wiring; multiplayer rear-cab sim changes apply when the client is host. 

Asset Packs (rolling stock, locomotives) without CabSync settings are unchanged.

Installation instructions

1. Install Unity Mod Manager for Railroader if you have not already.

2. Install this mod (CabSync.dll and Info.json) into your UMM mods folder.

(drag and drop .zip onto the 'Install Mods' area on the 'Mods' tab)

3. Enable “Railroader Cab Sync (dual cab)” in the UMM UI.

Using the Mod

You only install Cab Sync once. It does not change locomotives by itself.

Which trains are supported?

Each content pack (locomotive mod) that includes a CabSync folder with a valid

settings.xml is supported automatically. The mod scans all installed mod folders

when the game loads and when you toggle Cab Sync on. Packs without that folder

are not modified.
