📋 About This Mod
Iron Grip
Wield two-handed melee weapons in one hand — with a shield, with a one-handed weapon, or a heavy weapon in each hand. Three new talents available to every class.
Not a 2H → 1H swap
-
[]Weapons are not modified. No item stats, types, slots or prefabs are changed in the game. A greatsword stays a greatsword for everyone else.
[
]The permission is personal: only a character with the talent can hold a heavy weapon in one hand, and only while the talent's conditions are met.[]All regular mechanics keep working correctly: weapon type, weapon focus, two-handed weapon bonuses, abilities that require a two-handed weapon, dual-wield recovery bonus, Two Weapon Style, hand alternation, full attacks.
[]One-handed attack animations are chosen for the heavy weapon, so a character with a weapon in each hand does not swing it with both hands.
Talents
-
[]Iron Grip I (any level) — a two-handed melee weapon in one hand; shield, one-handed weapon or empty hand in the other.
[
]Titan's Grip II (level 6, requires I) — two two-handed weapons at once.[]Heavy Weapon Master III (level 12, requires II) — accuracy penalty reduced from −10 to −5.
The price of power
-
[]Equipping requires current Might 25 (items and buffs count).
[]Accuracy of a heavy weapon held in one hand: −10 (−5 with talent III). At Might 30+ there is no penalty.
[]If Might drops below 25 in combat, the weapon stays in hand, but the accuracy penalty doubles.
[]Recovery time: +15% with one heavy weapon, +25% with two. Applied on top of the normal dual-wield bonus.
Mastery: a hit from a huge weapon
Talent III + Might 30: 10% chance to stun the target for 2 s on a hit or crit with a heavy weapon (not on graze or miss). No Fortitude roll; immunities still apply. One target can be stunned this way no more than once every 6 s.
The chance is deliberately small, so the mod does not overshadow unique weapons with similar effects.
Installation
Requires Unity Mod Manager (0. 23+).
Install the archive via UMM → Mods → Install Mod. Game files are not replaced.
Notes
- []Learned talents are stored in your save. Before removing the mod, unequip heavy weapons from the off-hand in all weapon sets. Removing the mod from an ongoing playthrough has not been tested.
- Game version: Pillars of Eternity 3. 9.x.
