Technology Tree Overhaul (PalSchema)

What it does

🔹The Technology Tree has been changed to be more logical and organized: nothing unlocks before the technologies that produce its crafting materials.

🔹Many utility buildings are unlocked early by Ancient Technology points.

🔹Saddles are no longer locked by level: buying the Technology, catching the Pal and having the materials to craft the Saddle is enough. If you prefer no Saddles at all, there's an optional patch that completely removes the Technologies.

Main changes

🔹 Saddles: no more level requirements. Catching the Pal, Technology Points and material to craft the Saddle are all you need. Legendary Saddles are on top.

🔹 Ancient Technologies: some late game technologies were changed to early game Ancient Technologies, and vice versa.

🔹 Level: level requirements were either lowered or rearranged for a more meaningful use.

🔹 Cost: Technology Points were either decreased or increased based on power and usefulness.

🔹 Pre-requisites: upgraded technologies require the previous technology unlocked (ex.: Three Shot Bow requires Old Bow).

🔹 Armor & Weapons: armor and weapons with variants or upgrades (ex.: Cold/Heat Metal Armor, or elemental Grenades) now share the same level, with Heat/Cold variants unlocking shortly after their base piece.

🔹 Buildings: a few buildings had their materials and workload changed to reflect their new levels, adding a lot of quality of life to the early game, without changing the balance or flow of gameplay.

🔹 Revival Potion: now unlocks at level 24 and can be crafted at the Medieval Medicine Workbench. Reviving a fallen Pal shouldn't be locked to the endgame, even more considering how costly they are.

Installation

🔹 Install UE4SS for PalSchema (UE4SS-Palworld.zip) and PalSchema, following the official installation guide. Skip this if you already have them.

🔹 Open the downloaded .zip and copy the ZZZ_MelwenMods folder into your PalSchema mods folder:

Mod Managers

🔹 Vortex can install this mod, but it doesn't always place PalSchema mods in the right folder. Check that it landed next to your other PalSchema mods, and move it there if it didn't.

🔹 Install UE4SS yourself even if you use Vortex. The one it installs by default can be a different build that crashes the game on launch.

🔹 Steam Workshop: subscribe to PalSchema and launch the game once, then add this mod by hand using the Workshop path above. It's only on Nexus.
