๐ง What Is it? ๐
BiomeBeats plays YOUR music instead of Palworld's own limited soundtrack.
Drop an MP3 into music\Desert\ and it plays in the desert. That's the whole mod. Everything past that is optional depth you add only if you want it.
I did try other mods but I kept finding myself asking, what about bosses? What about general combat? What about my base? What about towns? If you asked yourself the same - this mod is for you.
It reacts the way real game music does - exploration music per area, combat interrupts, boss themes, dungeons, towns, your base, day and night - all driven by the game's own event system rather than guessed from map coordinates.

Before You Start-
[]Expect some jank.
Pausing, resuming, fast travel, region detection, bosses, crossfades, combat interrupts, the ambience layer, dungeons, ocean and World Tree zones, track history, special exceptions (terraria) - it's a hell of a lot of moving parts held together with duct tape and hope. If something breaks, try to repeat it and post the steps. Steps I can reproduce are steps I can fix. Note that stale regions is an issue I continue to combat while I play but it's a tough thing to perfect... Timing and pauses can slip through the guards and play incorrect music sometimes. Most notable if you're end game and have ridiculously fast Pals.[/
][]Built for single player.
Most detection is now filtered to your own character, so co-op should mostly be fine, but a few boss and state events still aren't player-specific - a friend's boss fight might flip your music etc.[/]
[]Region dead zones exist.
Palworld doesn't name every patch of ground, so the previous region's music can hang on until you cross into a named area. Ocean and World Tree needed hand-mapped coordinate zones for exactly this reason. The files tab has a map download which includes a html file with the map zones to understand the region specifications. Note that Palworlds default regions are very clumsy.[/]
[]Be Kind
I've not tested everything. I'm still at the start of the game and actually been using a test save, desperately trying to avoid too many spoilers so there might be some locations or situations that I've not considered.[/]
-
[]Region-aware exploration music, shuffled per area, with settle timers and a random entry delay so a new track never feels like flipping a switch[/]
[]Combat interrupt with exact-position resume - the region track picks up from where it stopped, not from the beginning[/]
[]Boss music for towers, legendaries, raid bosses, Panthalus and Astralym, with vanilla battle BGM cleanly silenced for the fight[/]
[]Dedicated dungeon, Sealed Realm, town, base and Wildlife Sanctuary music[/]
[]Crossfades throughout - never an abrupt cut[/]
[]Optional night variants for any folder[/]
[]An independent ambience layer that combat never interrupts[/]
[]Automatic loudness normalization, so a quiet ambient file and a loud combat track don't jump in volume[/]
[]On-screen "now playing" card and a title-screen logo - both can be switched off[/]
[]Ocean and World Tree coordinate zones, because the game gives neither a region of its own[/]
[]Reads your existing Master and BGM volume sliders - nothing extra to balance[/]
[]MP3, OGG, WAV and FLAC[/]
[]Almost all of it is plain Lua you can read and edit. The bundled .dll only does the part Lua can't: actually playing your audio.[/]
