📋 About This Mod
Automatically opens accessible player-built doors and large wall gates as you approach, then closes them after the last player leaves. Includes configurable delays and an optional per-door toggle for single-player and dedicated servers.
Automatic Base Doors
Walk up to an accessible player-built door or large wall gate to open it automatically. It closes shortly after the last player leaves. Enable or disable automation independently for each supported door.
Features
-
[]Automatically opens accessible player-built doors and wall gates when a player enters their interaction range.[/]
[]Closes automatically opened doors 0. 25 seconds after the last player leaves; manually opened doors use a separate two-second delay by default.[/]
[]Tracks overlapping players and cancels a pending close when someone returns.[/]
[]Keeps a manually closed door closed until its interaction area empties.[/]
[]Ignores enemy-camp doors and other world-owned doors.[/]
[]Adds an optional C: Toggle Auto Close action for one exact door at a time.[/]
[]Synchronizes per-door changes through the authoritative dedicated server.[/]
[]Persists the configured door GUID list across normal game and server restarts.[/]
[]Optionally treats the persistent list as an allowlist instead of an exclusion list.[/]
[]Shows a toast after the server acknowledges the new state.[/]
[]Uses event-driven hooks with no recurring polling loop.[/]
Requirements
Windows requires UE4SS Experimental (Palworld). Version 0. 3. 2 uses its native delayed game-thread API when available; older loaders without that API retain legacy scheduling.
Linux dedicated servers use the separate Linux package and the loader revision documented in its INSTALL.md. The Windows 0. 3. 2 update does not change the Linux package or the client/server toggle protocol.
Shared Interaction UI is required only on game clients that use the optional per-door interaction. It is a shared client-side UI dependency used only by my mods. Dedicated servers do not install or require its PAK.
Installation
Choose the Steam/manual, Game Pass, or Linux dedicated-server download that matches your platform. Close Palworld or the server, extract the archive into the installation folder, and fully restart it.
For single-player, install Automatic Base Doors in the game client. Install Shared Interaction UI as well to use C: Toggle Auto Close.
For dedicated multiplayer, install the appropriate Automatic Base Doors server package on the server. Install Automatic Base Doors and Shared Interaction UI on clients that need the optional per-door toggle. Other connecting players need no client mod.
Do not install the Nexus and Steam Workshop versions simultaneously.
Usage
On a client with Shared Interaction UI installed, aim at a supported player-built door and press C: Toggle Auto Close. A native toast confirms whether auto-close is enabled or disabled for that exact door.
Persistence and list modes
The per-door list is stored by the authoritative single-player world or dedicated server and survives normal restarts. Door GUIDs are saved in Scripts\auto_close_exclusions.txt with a recoverable .bak file.
With invert_exclusion_list set to false, listed doors do not auto-close. Set it to true to allow auto-close only for listed doors. C: Toggle Auto Close always toggles the door's actual enabled state, so its acknowledgement toast remains literal in either mode. The generated files are not included in release archives and are not overwritten by upgrades.
Configuration
Edit Scripts\config.lua on the host or server, then fully restart it. Preserve this file and the saved door list when upgrading; older preserved configs may require adding auto_open_enabled = true.
-
[]auto_open_enabled = true: enable automatic opening for accessible doors with automation enabled.[/]
[]auto_open_exit_delay_seconds = 0. 25: delay after the last player leaves an automatically opened door.[/]
[]close_delay_seconds = 2. 0: delay after a manual opening or reopening.[/]
[]invert_exclusion_list = false: listed doors are excluded; true makes the list an allowlist.[/]
[]verbose_logging = false and callback_diagnostics = false: optional troubleshooting logs, disabled by default.[/]
Auto-open
Auto-open is enabled by default. Set auto_open_enabled = false in Scripts/config.lua on the host or server to disable it, then restart. Accessible doors with auto-close enabled open when a player enters their interaction volume and close after the last player leaves. auto_open_exit_delay_seconds defaults to 0. 25 seconds; manually open
