Auto-Close Base Doors

Automatically closes supported player-built doors and large wall gates after a configurable delay. Auto-close can be disabled or enabled independently for each supported door.

Requirements

Auto-Close Base Doors requires a Palworld-compatible UE4SS installation and the UE4SS Experimental package on Windows.

Shared Interaction UI is required only on game clients that use the optional per-door interaction. It is a shared client-side UI dependency used only by my mods. Dedicated servers do not install or require its PAK.

Installation

Choose the Steam/manual, Game Pass, or Linux dedicated-server download that matches your platform. Close Palworld or the server, extract the archive into the installation folder, and fully restart it.

For single-player, install Auto-Close Base Doors in the game client. Install Shared Interaction UI as well to use C: Toggle Auto Close.

For dedicated multiplayer, install the appropriate Auto-Close Base Doors server package on the server. Install Auto-Close Base Doors and Shared Interaction UI on clients that need the optional per-door toggle. Other connecting players need no client mod.

Do not install the Nexus and Steam Workshop versions simultaneously.

Usage

On a client with Shared Interaction UI installed, aim at a supported player-built door and press C: Toggle Auto Close. A native toast confirms whether auto-close is enabled or disabled for that exact door.

Persistence and list modes

The per-door list is stored by the authoritative single-player world or dedicated server and survives normal restarts. Door GUIDs are saved in Scripts\auto_close_exclusions.txt with a recoverable .bak file.

With invert_exclusion_list set to false, listed doors do not auto-close. Set it to true to allow auto-close only for listed doors. C: Toggle Auto Close always toggles the door's actual enabled state, so its acknowledgement toast remains literal in either mode. The generated files are not included in release archives and are not overwritten by upgrades.

Configuration

Edit Scripts\config.lua to change close_delay_seconds or invert_exclusion_list, then fully restart Palworld or the dedicated server. The default close delay is 2. 0 seconds, and list inversion is disabled by default.
