Skyrim Weights in OBR

Description

Adjusts Oblivion Remastered's weapons and armors to use their equivalent item weights from Skyrim as accurately as possible. This will generally result in high-end weapons and armor weighing as little as 33% their original weights while low-end weapons and armor weights can see up to a 10-30% weight reduction.

Oblivion's appalling weights for Daedric weapons, such as the Daedric Warhammer with a weight of 93 and the Daedric Longsword with a weight of 48, now use Skyrim's Daedric Warhammer's weight of 31 and Daedric Sword's weight of 16 instead, exactly 1/3 of Oblivion's weights!

Since Skyrim uses a single slot for Oblivion's cuirass and greaves slot, Skyrim's single armor weight has been split between Oblivion's two armor slots, resulting in drastically lighter armor.

For example in an unmodded game, Skyrim's Daedric Armor (cuirass and greaves) has a weight of 50 while Oblivion's Daedric Cuirass has a weight of 60... and Oblivion's Daedric Greaves has a weight of 36! Not only does Skyrim's Daedric Armor (cuirass and greaves) weigh 10 less than the single slot cuirass in Oblivion, but Oblivion also has a greaves slot bringing the total weight difference between them from 10 to 46!

This mod addresses the cuirass and greaves weight discrepancy between the two games by taking Skyrim's Daedric Armor weight of 50 and distributing it across Oblivion's Daedric Cuirass and Greaves, giving the Daedric Cuirass a weight of 34 and the Daedric Greaves a weight of 16.

Installation

Place SkyrimWeightsInOBR.esp (and SkyrimWeightsInOBRD.esp if downloaded) in the folder Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data and edit the file Plugins.txt in the same folder with the line:

SkyrimWeightsInOBR.esp

If you downloaded SkyrimWeightsInOBRD.esp, you should also edit Plugins.txt with the following line:

SkyrimWeightsInOBRD.esp

Remove SkyrimWeightsInOBR.esp (and SkyrimWeightsInOBRD.esp if downloaded) in the folder Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data and edit the file Plugins.txt in the same folder to remove the line:

SkyrimWeightsInOBR.esp
