📋 About This Mod

Pictures are taken in 4k with hardware lumen high and DLSS Quality. Works with software lumen too.
Requirements:
Uses UE4SS to apply the settings so you don't need to modify the engine.ini yourself.
My other mod Lumiere - Lights of Cyrodiil goes hand in hand with this mod. It adds tons of light sources around the outdoor world which in return casts more shadows and lights up the dark areas with actual light.
Description:
- Tweaks the engine's lighting to be more dramatic and immersive, both indoors and outdoors.
- Tunes eyeadaptation to be more in line with the new deeper shadows.
- Volumetric fog is tuned down—rather than disabled—ensuring it retains its presence for ambiance and depth, but without the some heavy-handed haze that can wash out distant visuals or obscure fine detail. It's still very present and very heavy, just tuned town as much as the game allows without disabling it.
- Mild color correction to compensate for the deeper shadows.
- Smooths out fog
Compatibility:
Should be compatible with just about everything. Works with engine.ini mods
Installation:
Download UE4SS, unzip ShadowsReworked and drop the "OblivionRemastered" folder into your game directory (where OblivionRemastered.exe is)
Uninstall:
Steam: Navigate to \Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods and delete ShadowsReworked

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 892 endorsements and over 81k downloads
- No reshade needed, so it's lightweight and won't tank your FPS
- Fog reduction is a nice touch for those who hate the vanilla haze
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects shadows and fog, so don't expect a full visual overhaul
- Mild color correction might not be enough for some, but it's subtle by design
- Last updated July 2026, so it's recent but no guarantee of future updates
For Skyrim players who want deeper, more realistic shadows without the hassle of installing a reshade. If you're tired of flat lighting and want a quick visual boost, this is for you. Skip if you're looking for a complete graphics overhaul or if you prefer ENB-based presets.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's in-engine, you can install it manually by dropping the files into your Data folder, but using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 is still recommended for easy uninstallation.
- If you're using other lighting mods, test the load order—place Shadows Reworked after them to ensure its changes take effect.
- Check the mod's screenshots to see if the shadow depth is to your liking before committing, as it can be dramatic in some interiors.
