Description:
Simple ini tweak to increase the draw distance of most light sources. Works on static torches, campfires, doomstones, ayleid wells etc.
Pairs really well with my other mod Lumiere - Lights of Cyrodiil which adds hundreds of light sources to the outdoor world.
Performance impact:
2x: 0-3 FPS depending on where you are. Imperial city gets a 3 FPS reduction while outside in the forest gets 0-1
3x: additional 1-3 FPS.
Impact will differ depending on hardware. Tested with 7800x3d / 4090
Compatibility:
Should be compatible with just about everything.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 1,168 endorsements and 60k downloads—clearly fills a need.
- Pure visual improvement—no gameplay tweaks, so it won't break balance.
- Light radius boost makes exploring dungeons and ruins way less annoying.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects static light sources—dynamic lights like spells or carried torches are untouched.
- Last updated July 2026—might not work with future game patches if not updated.
For Oblivion players who are tired of squinting in dark dungeons and want a quick visual upgrade. Perfect if you want better visibility without changing gameplay mechanics. Skip if you're looking for more comprehensive lighting overhauls or dynamic light changes.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a simple preset, just drop the files into your Data folder and enable the mod in your launcher.
- If you use a mod manager like OBMM or Wrye Bash, install it through that for easy uninstallation.
- Test in a dungeon with torches to see the difference—if it's too bright, you might need a less aggressive preset.
