(OUTDATED) Enable DLSS 4 Preset K (Transformer) - DLSS Ghosting fix - Ray Reconstruction

If you're familiar with changing DLSS presets, NVIDIA Profile Inspector/DLSSTweaker/DLSS Swapper etc, this guide/mod is probably not for you

Works with NVIDIA driver 566. 36 (December 2024). Will work on newer drivers and some older drivers. If you're on an older driver I recommend updating to 566. 36

GUIDE:

1. Download the DLSS 4 DLL. Select "NVIDIA DLSS DLL": https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/866

1a. Optional: If you want to enable Ray Reconstruction download "NVIDIA DLSS 3. 5 Ray Reconstruction DLL" (Costs about 10 FPS on a 4090)

2. Go to "Oblivion Remastered\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\nvidia\DLSS\DLSS\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64"

3. Create a backup of "nvngx_dlss.dll" then drop the .dll into the folder and overwrite if asked. Ray Reconstruction .dll goes here as well.

End result should look like this: "Oblivion Remastered\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\nvidia\DLSS\DLSS\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64\nvngx_dlss.dll"

4. Download this mod and drop it inside "OblivionRemastered" folder (where OblivionRemastered.exe is). Alternatively you can manually update your engine.ini file or use an alternate method to change DLSS settings.

5. Enable DLSS in Oblivion's ingame settings

6. Enjoy!

Note that Ray Reconstruction is very costly and requires 20-series GPU or newer

Alternatives:

NVIDIA App - The official NVIDIA App lets you override presets through DLSS Override, but it does not let you enable AutoExposure to fix ghosting

DLSS Swapper - Gives you greater control over your DLSS versions and allows you to swap DLSS versions on a per game basis very easily with the click of a button. Highly recommended

Nvidia Profile Inspector - Allows you to fully tweak DLSS settings both globally and on a per game basis

DLSSTweaks - Same as Profile Inspector, but simpler and fewer options. For those who don't necessarily want full control

By default the game comes with an older version of DLSS and uses preset C. This mod/guide will help you update DLSS to use the latest DLSS 4 version which unlocks Preset K, also known as the transformer model. Optionally you can enable Ray Reconstruction as well.

What about Preset J?

The game doesn't come with an option for preset J in the console, so if you want to use J you need to use Nvidia Profile Inspector, DLSSTweaks or Nvidia App and change to it yourself. There's both pros and cons to using Preset J over K and which of them looks best is subjective...
