📋 About This Mod

The game stores in an inventory (or container) only one entry for each item type. And one entry from inventory can be mapped to multiple menu entries, depending on some additional attributes. For example if the player has 5x Iron Boots in inventory, one stolen, 2x at 100% health and 2x at 125% health, then there will be one entry in inventory (with a counter set to 5) that is mapped to 3 entries in the menu. But, because Bugthesda, sometimes this mapping doesn't work as it should and no menu entries are created for some items. This mod tries to fix this by replacing some of the code used during the mapping process.

Credits

The solution is from EngineBugFixes mod for Oblivion, by Tiawar. Luckily the author provided the source code and also a nice description of the problem. Without the source code I doubt I would have had time to understand what is going on.

Installation

Nothing special, install it like any other OBSE64 plugin:

Extract the archive into the Oblivion Remastered game folder. Or extract the included files into the

STEAM_LIBRARY\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64\OBSE\Plugins folder. Or use a mod manager.

Just make sure the game is launched by running obse64_loader.exe.

An easy way to reproduce the bug:

  • []Add 2+ identical weapons/armor items repaired at 125% into an empty container. This is the first stack.

[]Add another 2+ another identical weapons/armor items repaired at 125% to the same container. This is the second stack.

  • Add another item. This one usually won't be visible.

But the bug can be reproduced with few other items, like Soul Gems filled by player. Seems that starting with second stack of 2+ items with some custom properties, like health or contained soul, one less item is visible. But it also depends on the order of stacks, which can change when a save file is reloaded, so sometimes some items are not visible, while sometimes they are.

Configuration

Use TCS (or ToggleCombatStats) console command to enable / disable the mod. By default is enabled.

In Oblivion Remastered this command only prints the "Command removed. Use TDT and switch to COMBAT INFO page." message. Was to lazy to find a way to add a new command, so the mod hijacks this one.
