No Bugs or Quest Items

With new quests come new bugs. The Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition quest, "Burning Trail", provides us with two new fun annoyances. The more widely known of the two is the suspiciously sticky Mythic Dawn pamphlets, 1-4. It's everyone's favorite, permanent quest items!

Less obvious is Bravil's own, Ranaline, the undead sleeper agent of the Mythic Dawn. She is set essential to stay alive for the quest but that never changes after completion. Thereafter, you might find yourself shanked and followed by an adoring zombie assassin. 🥳

This plugin fixes both of these bugs while trimming some unused script bloat. However, in this case, it turns out the pamphlets are static. This means that if they're dropped, they never fall. They just float with collision, nail and all (think Old Oblivion paint brushes). All options considered, I decided to set them to where they're read, but can't be taken.

A retroactive version is also available. It includes a very short script for Ranaline which will set her to non-essential when in combat any time after the quest's completion. If she hasn't been spoken to yet, the retroactive version is not needed.

Both versions will remove quest item status from the pamphlets which allows inventory exchange. The difference is that Retro will still allow for picking them back up when placed in the world.

Installation

Extract/drop plugin inside the OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data\ folder.

In the same folder, edit Plugins.txt to include the plugin's name somewhere below AltarESPLocal.esp and save.

Uninstallation

Delete plugin from the OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data\ folder.

In the same folder, edit Plugins.txt to remove the plugin's name and save.
