📋 About This Mod
Thieves Den Barter for Upgrades
A simple mod restoring what seems like the initial functionality for the Thieves Den' buyable upgrades. They were implemented as topics where you spend a fixed amount of gold to acquire them. These are now bought from Dahlia Rackham as receipts from the barter menu, like every other house and DLC upgrade. All needed fixes by UOMP included.
Only useful in a game where you hadn't bought them already, obviously, and you can even trash this after getting them since everything was already in the plugin.
Note that Dahlia is set to buy/sell books, but due to being in the faction of the Sea Tub Clarabella she can sell anything in her cell. This starts with a Red Book of Riddles, and can include anything that's not screwed to the floor once you hit Mercantile journeyman. Plus, her low responsibility makes her double as a fence, albeit with only 100 barter gold. Consider it as her further giving the finger to her captain :P
Thieves Den Barter for Upgrades rebalances Dunbarrow Cove upgrades in Oblivion's Thieves Den DLC, requiring players to use their Mercantile skill to barter for upgrades instead of paying fixed dialog prices. This small, focused mod has 1,013 endorsements and was last updated in 2017.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 1,013 endorsements and over 156k downloads.
- Fixes a gameplay inconsistency for players who want a more immersive, skill-based economy.
- Lightweight and straightforward—does exactly what it says without bloat.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2017—may have compatibility issues with newer mod setups or unofficial patches.
- Niche appeal: only affects Thieves Den upgrades, so players who don't care about bartering won't notice a difference.
For Oblivion players who want the Thieves Den DLC to feel more integrated with the game's Mercantile skill system. If you're a roleplayer who enjoys haggling for prices, this mod adds a layer of depth. Skip if you prefer the simplicity of fixed-price upgrades or don't use the Thieves Den.
💡 Beginner Tips

- Test the bartering mechanic early in a save to ensure it works with your other mods, especially if you have economy overhauls.
