📋 About This Mod
The huge disparity between the female and male armor sets bothered me, so I fixed this up as a quick solution - vanilla armor set replacers modeled for the female body out of the male armors. Works with any body replacer as there is no skin showing, I roughly modeled the shape after HGEC. Currently covers Iron, Dwemer, Ebony, Chainmail, Mithril and Glass sets, all as separate downloads so you can pick and choose. Might merge them into one DL eventually.
Simple drag and drop install, also works fine through NMM. This only replaces female cuirasses, greaves and male armor textures for the covered sets.
Assorted Protective Female Armors replaces vanilla female armor sets with fully covering versions reworked from male models to fit a female figure. Compatible with any body replacer, this classic mod offers a practical, modest aesthetic for Skyrim players. With 5,396 endorsements and over a million downloads, it remains a popular choice for those seeking less revealing armor.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust: 5,396 endorsements and 1.1 million downloads.
- Fully covering armor sets for players who prefer practical, modest looks.
- Works with any body replacer, so no conflicts with your preferred body mod.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2013 — may have compatibility issues with newer Skyrim versions or DLC.
- Only replaces vanilla armors; no new or unique armor pieces added.
- No screenshots or detailed installation instructions provided in the description.
For Skyrim players who want their female characters to wear practical, fully covering armor without sacrificing a good fit. Also great for roleplayers who prefer a more grounded, less sexualized aesthetic. Skip if you're looking for new armor designs or high-res texture overhauls.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a replacer, it will overwrite the vanilla armor meshes — make sure to back up your original files if you want to revert.
- If you use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, install this mod and let it overwrite when prompted to ensure the replacers take effect.
- Check if your body replacer requires a specific skeleton — this mod works with any body, but your skeleton must be compatible with your body mod.
