Mod: Quest Related Dungeons Marked, Version 1. 0 Game: TES IV: Oblivion Author: David Brasher Release Date: 9/21/11 ********************************************************************* CONTENTS ****************************************************************** 1. Copy Status and Credits ****************************************************************** 1. INFORMATION ON THE MOD ****************************************************************** This mod marks the quest-related dungeons by planting a big purple flower by the front door. This can prevent you from accidentally exploring a quest-related dungeon while you are not doing the quest and thereby breaking the quest. The purple flower is a retexturing of Domica Redwart. It is large and tall and highly visible if you pause a moment to look for it before entering a dungeon. It is not always right by the door, but always fairly close. Ayleid ruins may have more than one flower at various entrances to the stony ruined exterior area. Flowers can\'t grow in stone, so the flowers are in soil by paths you would have to take to reach the door. For caves that have more than one entrance, there is a flower at each door. Using this mod could prevent you the grief of discovering that due to your promiscuous dungeon-crawling early in the game, one of your quests is broken and cannot be completed. ****************************************************************** 2. Installation ****************************************************************** Extract (decompress) the .esp, meshes, and textures to your oblivion directory, the default is: C:\\Program Files\\Bethesda Softworks\\Oblivion\\Data\\ Mark the box next to the \"Quest-Related Dungeons Marked\" plugin in your mod manager. Alternately, extract someplace else. Then move the .esp, meshes and textures to Oblivion\\Data\\. Activate the mod in your mod manager. ****************************************************************** 3. This mod plants a large purple flower at the entrance of quest-related dungeons in Skyrim, helping players avoid entering them prematurely and breaking quests. It's a simple visual marker for players who want to keep quests intact.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple and effective: a big purple flower is hard to miss, so you won't stumble into a quest dungeon by accident.
- Lightweight and doesn't change gameplay mechanics—just a visual cue.
- Community-trusted with 404 endorsements and nearly 5k downloads, so it's proven useful.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2011—may not be compatible with the latest Skyrim version or DLCs.
- Only marks dungeons tied to quests; non-quest dungeons remain unmarked, so you still need to be careful.
- The purple flower might clash with the game's aesthetic for some players.
For Skyrim players who hate breaking quests by wandering into the wrong dungeon. If you're a completionist or roleplayer who wants to keep quest lines clean, this is a handy visual aid. Skip if you don't mind quests breaking or prefer a more immersive marker.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Place the mod files in your Skyrim Data folder and activate it in the launcher.
- If you're using a mod manager, just install the archive and enable it.
- The flower only appears on dungeons that are part of quests, so don't expect it on every cave or ruin.
