MOD NAME: Sher Ja Mountain Lion Companion

August 11 2011 This file now has a custom skeleton which is included. It won't interfere with the vanilla mountain lion as it's only for Sher Ja.

I also found to my dismay that in the previous file I had selected the wrong skeleton which I hadn't noticed and is a mystery to me because I don't remember changing it.

My sincere apologies for the mix up and problems caused.

Please see comments re removal of the file with custom meshes and textures. Until I find out what the problem is for at least two people, I cannot in conscience leave it there. I don't know when I can troubleshoot it, but the old and working version is still there.

UPDATE: July 21 2011 The new file is the old version of Sher Ja which I know has worked for many, many people without problems so if you have problems with the updated version perhaps test this one. It uses vanilla assets only.

Both work for me so it's a bit hard to find the cause of freezes or crashes.

NEW LOOK. He now uses the cougar files from Waalx Animals and Creatures and also now has whiskers and a collar. His eyes will glow in the dark as well.

This was my first ever mod back in 2008 or thereabouts besides some save games I uploaded back then, and I have a particular fondness for it, simple as it is.

This is basically the original Readme with a few changes so the version history is included for continuity, and the info about sneaking and a few other relevant things are included there.

DESCRIPTION: Sher Ja was raised from a mewling cub by his owner after his mother was killed by hunters. He grew into a fearless and loyal companion and protector, but misfortune saw them separated after a battle in an Ayleid Ruin. It's not known at this time what happened to his partner, but Sher Ja surely survived and will bond with another who will respect and care for him. The name is derived from Sher - a Persian name meaning Lion and Ja just popped into my head. Yes, I know that means I'm actually calling him Lion! I've since found out Ja also means lion.... I like the name, but anyone can change it in the CS if they want or you can use the console to change it.

Open the console, click on Sher Ja and type "setactorfullname" (without the quotes), type the new name and press enter. Close the console. If his new name is two words or more they must have quotes at the beginning and end of the name. However, the messages when activating him will still have his original name. That can only be changed in his script.
