📋 About This Mod
Overview:
This is my take on allowing you to join the Imperial Legion as a fully joinable faction. This adds a questline with over a dozen new quests to see you rise through the ranks of the Imperial Legion.
If you join the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild, you cannot join my guild, even if you get kicked out of those guilds. You also cannot join if you've ever had a bounty of 5000 gold or more. If any of these things are true when you talk to Adamus, you are permanently locked out of my questline. You also cannot join if you have an infamy score that is more than half your fame, although you can increase your fame to get around this and Adamus will wait for that to be true (i.e. you are not permanently locked out of my question).
Also, if you join my guild, you cannot join the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild and if their recruitment quests were active, they get ended early. However, if you get kicked out of the Legion, it is possible to join the Thieves Guild if you haven't gotten that far in my questline such that it would not longer be appropriate (when you start working with Lex, which is quite early on in the questline).
It is also possible to join the Dark Brotherhood if you were not a murderer before joining the Legion (if the Dark Brotherhood recruitment quest was ended early, then it's too late) and haven't gotten that far in my questline such that it would no longer be appropriate (nearer the end of the questline); however, unless you were kicked out of the Legion very early on, there's one Dark Brotherhood quest that you won't be able to get the bonus reward from.
I'm using the Imperial Watch faction rather than the Imperial Legion faction. This is because the Legion HQ and the various Watchtowers and such are owned by the Imperial Watch faction, and I wanted the player to have access to those areas once you've joined.
If you ever get a bounty, you will not be able to progress with the Legion questline until you do a long and boring quest to make up for your crimes (in addition to the usual pay fine or go to jail). You have a "three strikes and your out", so if you need to talk to Adamus about crimes a third time, he just flat out kicks you out of the Legion and there's no way to get back in.
Getting arrested by guards who you outrank can result in you getting them to stand down, at which point your bounty will be "shelved" and the next time you get into trouble, your previous bounty will be added to your new bounty. This is how I stopped the guards continuously chasing you until you resolve the crime bounty the vanilla way.
Note that the quest Sins of the Father now has an alternative way to complete it if a certain quest of mine (called "The Waterfront Sting") has already been started/completed. If both are active, my quest "waits" until you've completed that other one, but if mi
