======================= > HVK Shoes Revisited < ======================= Version 0. 1b by Havik Files included in this package (3): 1. HVK Shoes Revisited.esp 2. HVKSR - Readme.txt (this file) 3. HVKSRFootwearWeightValues.txt I. What it does =---------------------------------------------- This mod was made in an effort to rebalance clothing footwear with armor footwear. In Vanilla Oblivion\'s weight rates, there was no incentive to not wear armor footwear while sneaking (excluding barefooted) - a character could choose to wear armored footwear and suffer a sneak penalty or wear clothing footwear and suffer the exact same (or worse) penalty. The only additional cost to the player was repair costs, which at low levels aren\'t very expensive. I have lowered all of the clothing footwear to weight values between 0. 4 and 1. 0 feathers in order to reflect the relative difference between the sounds made by medieval type shoes and chain armor (which most shoes \"sounded\" like due to the weight values and the manner in which the stealth formula works). The exact changes were only made to clothing footwear and are included for your benefit in a seperate text file named \"FootwearWeightValues.txt\" which is bundled with the esp. II. Installation =------------------------------------------------ Unzip to your Oblivion Data directory, check the box in your mod manager named HVK Shoes Revisited and enjoy. III. Known Conflicts =------------------------------------------------ This should work with OOO with no problems. As far as I can tell (from poking around inside), that mod does not change the base footwear weight values in the game. If any mods add unique footwear (clothing, not armor) this mod will not fix their weight. My only suggestion is to change the weight value yourself in the CS. If you want these values to mimic the values I\'ve used just look for them in the HVKSRFootwearWeightValues.txt file. Any mod which changes the weight of the stock footwear in the game will conflict with this mod. IV. Future Releases =------------------------------------------------- I may make chainmail boots heavier in a subsequent version, but I doubt it. I think the values have been balanced better. As this is a beta, (possibly a final) I wouldn\'t mind having feedback on the values I\'ve used for weight in the release thread in the official forums. If anyone is interested in a complete clothing overhaul in regards to weight, I may be interested, but not soon. The reason that I tackled shoes is due to the gameplay stealth effects that are modified and (in my opinion) somewhat imbalanced by the original values. I haven\'t really contemplated how unbalancing a weight overhaul for clothing might be yet. Cheers.
