📋 About This Mod
This is a combat overhaul meant to be more of a somewhat vanilla+ experience, integrated with oblivion's rpg systems.
My design philosophy is to make combat more interesting while also remembering that this is an RPG - your character's attributes and skills should matter.
Features can be configured to your liking.
FATIGUE
fatigue has a higher base regeneration rate, but it is reduced by armor weight and attacks cost more. Fatigue has a much lessened effect on your damage, but actions like dodging, power attacking, and jumping can't be performed without the required amount. You also don't regenerate fatigue while you are attacking.
ATTACKS
Weapon damage is increased and now scales equally with strength and skill.
the three Melee Skills - Blade, Blunt, hand to hand - now each have unique unlockable power attack effects rather than all sharing the same ones. Beware, for NPCs with the appropriate skill also gain these effects!
Blades are generally focused on straightforward damage - with power attacks that can inflict bleed or cleave through multiple foes, for instance.
Blunt weapons are focused primarily on crowd control and debuffs, leveraging their weight to perform heavy staggers and tear through armor.
Hand to Hand power attacks are focused on combo finishers - Gaining special effects when striking a foe that is low on fatigue.
STAGGER
Chance to stagger no longer depends on damage. Instead, it is calculated by weapon type and whether the attacker is power attacking, against the target's agility. Blocking targets can only be staggered by power attacks, and power attacks are quite effective at doing that.
BLOCKING
Blocking is much more effective at all skill levels, and the penalty for not having a shield is greatly reduced. A simple timed block system for the player only is introduced : A well-timed block (window is half a second) will negate all physical damage from the hit.
RECOIL
Recoil is now chance based instead of garunteed. The chance depends on the weapon, the attacker's strength, the defender's block skill, and whether the defender has a shield. A Timed block will always cause a recoil.
BASHING
The vanilla passive random bash has been disabled for the player and replaced with an active bash, available to any skill level. The Bash costs a hefty amount of fatigue but is a guaranteed stagger, making it effective at interrupting attacks and spells, creating distance, or breaking a guard. Bashing is improved with block skill perks.
(Bashing doesn't deal damage - this is an intentional decision to make it also useful for pushing NPCs out of the way)
NPCs retain the vanilla chance-based passive bash, if they have the required skill - As giving NPCs unreactable at-will bashes has prove

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download count (11,124) shows real interest in a combat overhaul
- Focus on RPG integration means it's not just a damage tweak — it respects Oblivion's systems
- Recently updated (July 2026), so it's likely compatible with current setups
⚠️ Cons
- Endorsement ratio is low (93 endorsements vs 11k downloads) — could be a niche audience or unresolved issues
- No compatibility notes for popular mods like OOO or Francesco's — you're on your own
For Oblivion players who want combat that feels more connected to character progression and perks. If you're tired of vanilla combat feeling detached from your build, this might be your fix. Skip if you prefer lightweight combat tweaks or need extensive documentation before installing.
