📋 About This Mod
Skycaptains BloodTime 1. 0 -------------------------- Isn´t it annoying that while you can adjust the time the blood decals stay on the ground, every time you enter the graphics settings it gets reseted to the default 10s? By default, this mod makes your \"fdecallifetime\" setting in your ini to stay at 100s. This means that blood on the ground and walls stay for 100s. CONFIGURATION!!! ----------------- If you want to CHANGE THE VALUE, type in the console: \'set bloodTime to x\' where \"x\" is the amount of seconds you want the blood to stay. NOTE! You need to press \"ESC\" to visit the \"pause menu\" to make the new setting activate. There are no constantly running scripts. ------------------ DISCLAIMER: This mod was made a favor. I haven´t tested it - but I have been reported by many people that it works. Anyone is free to use this mod as a resource, copy the script or include it anywhere - AS LONG AS CREDIT AND A MENTION OF THE ORIGIN IS INCLUDED AS WELL. :) ------------------------------------------------------- REQUIRES Oblivion Sript Extender! (Get the lates at obse.silverlock.org) ------------------------------------------------------- Installation: ------------- Extract to your Oblivion\\Data folder, and activate like any other Oblivion mod. Yes, you need to know yourself how to install mods. ;) ------------- -Skycaptain
BloodTime is a tiny utility mod for Oblivion that prevents the game from resetting your blood decal lifetime setting to the default 10 seconds whenever you open the graphics settings. It works by setting your 'fdecallifetime' ini value to a custom value by default. With 99 endorsements and last updated in 2008, it's a niche fix for a specific annoyance.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solves a real annoyance for players who customize their decal settings (99 endorsements).
- Tiny and lightweight—doesn't add bloat or require heavy resources.
- Simple concept: one less thing to reset every time you tweak graphics.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2008—may not be compatible with newer Oblivion versions or mod setups.
- Only addresses a single ini setting; no other features or options.
- No documentation or install instructions provided by the author.
For Oblivion players who frequently adjust their graphics settings and are tired of their blood decal lifetime resetting to default. If you're a modder or tweaker who values persistent ini settings, this is a handy QoL fix. Skip if you rarely touch graphics settings or don't care about decal persistence.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to back up your Oblivion.ini before installing any mod that modifies ini values.
- If you're using a mod manager like OBMM, you can install this as a simple package, but manual placement works too.
- Check your Oblivion.ini after installation to confirm the fdecallifetime value is set to your preference.
