Better Vanilla Leveling
Requirements:
xOBSE
Description
Better Vanilla Leveling combines and updates various small features to provide an improved leveling experience, without overhauling the vanilla system. All features are optional and can be completely disabled in the INI file. Those marked with "(default)" in the list below are enabled by default.
The features included are:
- []Alternative Leveling Modes - You can choose between the vanilla system of gaining attribute bonuses or one of three new variations:[/]
-
[]Morrowind-Style - With this mode, your attribute bonuses will no longer be 'locked' in as soon as you gain the last major skill increase for your current level. You can continue to increase your attribute modifiers by increasing your skills up until you sleep to level up, just like in Morrowind.[/]
[]Rollover (default) - The same as above, but any attribute bonuses that you don't use when you level up will rollover to the next level and are not lost. This means that no skill increases will ever be wasted. There is also an option (disabled by default) for unused bonuses to decay by a certain number of skill increases, which offers a middle-ground between vanilla (no rollover) and the default complete rollover. (Similar to Attribute Progression Redesign but using a new, much simpler method that also works with the AdvanceSkill and ModPCSkill console and script functions.)[/]
[]Static Bonuses - The attribute bonuses that you can gain when you level up are static values based on your race and class. You cannot increase your attribute bonuses by increasing skills. (Similar to the classic mod S. P. A. M.)[/]
[]Display Attribute Bonuses (default) - Skill increases and attribute bonuses will be displayed in the attribute descriptions on the stats page of the journal menu. Compatible with all interface mods. (Supersedes Skill Diary Redone and sort of Skill Diary Undone)[/]
[]Specialization Skills Bonus (default) - Increasing a skill that is within your class specialization will count as two skill increases towards attribute bonuses. This makes achieving good bonuses for your class's main attributes easier.[/]
[*]Spellcasting Experience Scaling - Increases the skill experience gained from casting spells depending on the magicka cost of the spell. This also makes it so that experience is granted even if spells do no hit a target. Together
A customizable collection of small improvements to Skyrim's vanilla leveling system, including unused attribute bonus and training rollover, visible attribute bonuses, retroactive health formula, variable training costs, and a mercantile experience fix. Ideal for players who want quality-of-life tweaks without overhauling the game.
