📋 About This Mod
Ashven - 24-12-10 - Version 1 :READ \'DIS: Updated to 1. 1a. Fixed two jobs, so please redownload. Ash\'s Odd Jobs II: Skilled Labour ---Before you read--- After my swift return to what has to be my most favourite game on the face of the planet (at least until ESV comes out, hehe) I had the urge to go back and work over my old Odd Jobs mod. Which, I said I wasn\'t going to work on anymore - and I\'m still not going to. But I did give a go over a slightly more advanced version of the script, which has a bit more variance and such to the workday. Still no real time jobs, but it\'s still better than nothing. Keep in mind this really isn\'t an expansion upon the original mod but a revision - if you use my old version along side of this version, you notice two different stablehand jobs. Point of this version was to make the jobs a bit more dynamic, more variant, and maybe even a bit more believable. ---Description--- Welcome to the Imperial City, friend. Warrior, thief, mage, whatever you might be, you\'re likely broke and possibly down on your luck. Bread and mead doesn\'t pay for itself, and you\'re likely underequipped. Or maybe you\'re a man of shadows and need a dayjob/alibi. Either way - you\'re going to need to find a job. Most regular jobs are already taken, but don\'t worry a mite. You can still take the odd job - deliver a package or even work for a blacksmith. But you can\'t expect the work to come to you. Get up early and do your footwork and you might just find that job you need until you can do better. Of course, the odd job doesn\'t mean unskilled labour (there is some of that, of course). If you can\'t carry a conversation you\'re not like as to work as a bartender for long, and you surely can\'t fletch arrows if you know nothing about them. ---How the mod works--- I\'m not going to explain the script - if you know anything about scripting the whole thing is EXTREMELY self explanatory. But I prolly need to clarify a few things about the jobs. The most important thing you must remember is that all jobs appear as posted fliers outside the place of work they represent. Some jobs aren\'t available in all cities. Use common sense to find them - for example, if you want to be a stablehand you go to the stables. Each job \"class\" uses the same script, so no, working for the IC stables isn\'t better than working for the Cheydinhal Stables. It\'s just a matter of preference vs location. Most jobs have a minimal (but reasonable) skill requirement before you can even see the poster to start the job. So it\'s unlikely a warrior is going to see the Apothecary or Bartender job. Or that a thief will be able to work as a blacksmith. Nothing stopping you from getting the skill to do so, but I like to think it\'s kind of like a self-sorting job system - you can find what you\'re good at and you don\'t find what you\'re not. The jobs also have four daily outcomes. A Good day, a normal day, a bad day, and a YES
