📋 About This Mod
Overhauls the Clouds both on-ground and in-space.
Expect updates as i am always fixing/improving stuff...or atleast trying to...
Description
CLOUDS NOW MATCH THE SPACE CLOUDS.
fly to a spot with no clouds...guess what...no clouds...
fly to a spot thats dense with clouds...heavy overcast!!!
Nubilus replaces No Man's Sky's clouds with real volumetric clouds that match from orbit to the ground. The cloud pattern you see from space is the same one you fly through, lit and fogged to match the sky around it, day and night.
expect future updates/improvements. im always trying to fix little things that bug me when i play. Report any issues you have to me and i'll investigate.
Installation instructions
// Why is Lunatus required:
-
[]It's built as a pair: Nubilus was cut against Lunatus 1. 5's exact build, and the clouds were tuned against Lunatus' fog and sky. The cloud colours, night look and planet transitions all assume Lunatus' haze.[/]
[]Some cloud behaviour lives in Lunatus' files: the far-world cloud hand-over, the climb-out transition, and the horizon band hugging the clouds from orbit.[/]
[]It's never been tested without Lunatus: it might run, but the clouds would sit in vanilla fog they weren't designed for.[/]
-
[]Install Lunatus first (required).[/]
[]Extract the zip.[/]
[]Drop the Nubilus folder into ...\No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\MODS\ (create the MODS folder if it doesn't exist).[/]
[]Restart the game. Works with new and existing saves.[/]
Main features
-
[]One cloud pattern per planet: what you see from orbit is what you fly into, with a smooth fade from space down to the in-air clouds.[/]
[]Clouds take Lunatus' fog and sky colours, so they sit in the atmosphere instead of floating on top of it.[/]
[]Shared day/night lighting from orbit and in the air: lit until sunset, a short warm afterglow, then dark night silhouettes.[/]
[]Clouds stay solid in front of moons and distant planets.[/]
[]Clouds cast shadows on the ground, and lakes and oceans reflect them.[/]
Requirements
-
[]No Man's Sky 7. 04.[/]
[]Lunatus (required: Nubilus reads Lunatus' fog and sky).[/]
[]Conflicts with other mods that replace the cloud shaders.
Conflicts with other mods that change the SDR tone mapping. [/]
