📋 About This Mod
A friendly save editor for No Man's Sky. Max out inventories, upgrade class, enlarge storage, export and import ships, tech and cargo, drag items between saves, pool corvette parts, learn any blueprint, unlock Expedition and Twitch rewards,
Description
NMS Easy Save Editor is a small Windows app for the save edits most people actually want, without having to deal with raw save data. Pick your save, click what you want changed, review the list, and save.
Safety comes first. Nothing is written until you press Review & save, and your save is backed up before every change. After saving, the editor checks that only the things you asked for changed and reads each file back to confirm it landed. It won't save while the game is running, because the game would overwrite your changes.
The editor finds your Steam and Microsoft Store / Xbox PC saves by itself, and shows each one with its name, when it was last saved and how long you've played.
Installation instructions
1. Unzip anywhere you like.
2. Close No Man's Sky, then run NMSEasySaveEditor.exe.
3. Backups and exports are kept in folders next to the app. To uninstall, delete the folder.
HOW TO MAKE A STORY-COMPLETE FRESH START
1. Start a new game in No Man's Sky.
2. Play a couple of minutes until the saving icon appears in the corner. Walking around near your crashed ship is enough.
3. Quit to the main menu and close the game.
4. Open the editor, pick that save, go to Missions and press Complete the story.
5. Choose your Atlas ending, confirm, and load the save in the game.
Played further before doing this? That's fine — nothing you've already done is undone.
Main features
Your character
- Set Units, Nanites and Quicksilver (up to the game's limit of 4,294,967,295).
- Rename your save.
Exosuit, Starships, Corvettes, Multi-tools and Freighter
- Make any inventory its maximum size in one click.
- Supercharge every tech slot.
- Change the class (C, B, A or S).
- Rename ships, multi-tools and corvettes.
Back to normal (starships and corvettes)
- Reset stats to normal for its class: puts damage, shield, hyperdrive and manoeuvrability back to the ship's own values, for example after another editor pushed them far too high. The game works them out again when it loads the ship.
- Back to normal supercharged slots: returns a fully supercharged ship to the normal number (4 for a starship; for a corvette it goes with its class: C 1, B 2, A 3, S 4). Its own slots are kept where the editor can tell, otherwise they're picked at random like the game does.
- Make all ten base storage containers 120 slots.
- Rename the containers, or copy the names from another save so you don't have to type them again.
Export and import
- Export ships, corvettes, multi-tools and freighters to files, with a screenshot of each in an Exports gallery.
- Import them into any save or slot, and give them a new name as you import.
- Uses the same file types as NomNom (.nmsship, .nmscorv, .nmstool, .frt), so you can share with NomNom users.
- A ship's cargo travels with it when you export and import it.
Exosuit tech loadouts
- Export your exosuit's technology to a loadout file and import it into any other save.
- Choose "Add what's missing" to keep your current tech, or "Replace all exosuit tech".
- Send a ship's whole cargo to another ship in the same save, as a move or a copy.
- Export a ship's cargo to a file and import it into any ship, in any save.
- Tick "Also empty this ship's cargo" when exporting to keep collectibles safe outside the game and free up space.
- If it doesn't all fit, you're told exactly what was left out. The file is never changed, so you can make room and import again.
Tools tab (new in 1. 29)
- Transfer, Parts Locker, Blueprints, Rewards and Save Archive now sit together on one Tools tab, to keep the tab row tidy. Click a card to open a tool, and "Back to tools" to return.
- Open two inventories side by side: exosuit, any ship or corvette, the freighter or any storage container.
- Each side can be a different save, so you can move items between saves.
- Drag items across. Hold Shift to move half a stack, or use Move all.
- Rest the mouse on an item to see a big picture with its name and amount.
- Item pictures are read from your own No Man's Sky install. If the editor can't find the game, it asks for the folder.
- Nothing is saved until you press Review & save. Every save involved is backed up first, and if the second save can't be written, the first is put back as it was.
Parts Locker
- One store of corvette parts kept by the editor, outside your saves and shared by all of them.
- Gather the parts from every save's corvette
