📋 About This Mod
A rather simple script runner, it does what it says in the mod's overview.
With this mod installed, failing to hack a terminal will no longer result in being locked out of the terminal and unable to try again. Instead, the lock level of the terminal will increase by one level, making it more challenging to hack the terminal the next time around.
For example, if you fail to hack an "Easy" terminal, instead of being locked out, the terminal's lock level is increased to "Average," and if you fail again, it's increased to "Hard." The terminal doesn't truly lock you out until you fail to unlock it at the "Very Hard" level. At that point, you can only try again if you have the Computer Whiz perk.
This mod probably won't work with mods that bypass the hacking minigame as the script fires whenever the minigame menu is closed.
Install it like any other mod, although this mod doesn't have an esp file as it is just a script runner.

Terminals Lock UP is a small Fallout 4 mod that changes terminal hacking failure consequences. Instead of being locked out, the terminal's lock level increases by one, making subsequent attempts harder. Ideal for players who dislike being locked out but want a challenge.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 444 endorsements and over 180k downloads.
- Removes the frustrating lockout mechanic while keeping hacking challenging.
- Lightweight mod that doesn't require extra patches or compatibility checks.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in April 2023 — may not be compatible with the latest Fallout 4 patches.
- No documentation provided by the author, so install instructions are minimal.
- Only affects terminal hacking; if you wanted other hacking tweaks, this won't cover them.
For Fallout 4 players who hate being locked out of terminals after a failed hack but still want a risk-reward system. If you're a completionist who wants to retry without restarting, this is for you. Skip if you prefer the vanilla lockout or want more comprehensive hacking overhauls.
