📋 About This Mod
Features
Features
This ESPless mod expands the framework for Icons, allowing to change or add icons to all kinds of Items, Perks, Challenges, Map markers and Pop-ups. It also adds the ability to implement new icons that change depending on various factors like PC’s gender, Weapon Mod Installs or Rank in Perks. The framework allows editing, implementing, or patching not only the base game but any mod with simple text files.
This mod also features Bug Fixes to Vanilla Icon Path Locations! When you hover over the Crab Meat, you should see the Crab Meat! Not Brahmin Steak!

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust: 3,904 endorsements and over 881k downloads show this framework is a staple for UI modders.
- Gives you manual control over icon placement—perfect for customizing your Pip-Boy to match your loadout.
- Conditional icons add dynamic flair, like showing different icons based on item condition or type.
⚠️ Cons
- Framework plugin means it's not a standalone visual overhaul—you'll need to pair it with icon packs or configure it yourself.
- Last updated in March 2024—if you're on a newer game patch, double-check compatibility with your version.
For Fallout 4 modders who want to customize their Pip-Boy icons beyond the default set. If you're a UI tinkerer who likes fine-grained control over icon placement and conditional displays, this framework is your toolbox. Skip if you just want a quick icon overhaul—this is a base for other mods, not a finished product.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this is a framework, install it first, then add icon packs that require it—check the mod's posts for recommended compatible packs.
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to keep the framework and its dependent mods organized, especially if you're juggling multiple icon mods.
- Test in a new save or after clearing your Pip-Boy cache to see icon changes without old data interfering.
