Zerkish ModUtils
For Users
ZModUtils is a utility library for OpenMW/Lua that contains some utility functions for common calculations like SpellSchools, Armor Ratings as well as a small UI library with functions for scrollbars, buttons, clickable text elements etc.
There's no reason to download this unless you're using a mod that depends on it.

For Mod Developers
You are free to use ZModUtils as a dependency, but be warned it is not a stable API (as in I may update it and break your mods), and it's not well documented. I mainly made this to share code between my own mods. It's likely better to look at the code and "borrow" parts that you need.
If you have questions you can contact me here on Nexus or the OpenMW discord.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid endorsement-to-download ratio (149 endorsements, 15,370 downloads) shows it's trusted by the modding community
- Regularly updated (last updated May 2025) so it's actively maintained
- Essential for modders who want to build on a shared foundation
⚠️ Cons
- Does nothing on its own, so it's useless for players unless they install mods that depend on it
- As a library, it's only relevant to mod creators, not the average player
This is for OpenMW mod developers who want to save time by using pre-built utility functions. If you're a player looking for gameplay changes, this isn't for you. But if you're creating mods, this is a handy resource to build upon.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're new to modding, start with a simple mod that uses this library to see how it works.
- Check the mod's documentation or forum posts for examples of how to use the utilities.
- Since it's a library, make sure to place it in your OpenMW mods folder and load it before any mods that depend on it.
