📋 About This Mod

Overview

Actions in Morrowind are instant. You can read an entire book, brew potions, repair and enchant your gear, and talk to and trade with NPCs without a single minute passing on the clock. This mod is a (back)port of the Skyrim mod of the same name.

Every common action now advances the game clock by a configurable number of minutes. Opening a book takes 15 minutes, picking a lock or disarming a trap takes 2 minutes per attempt. Starting a conversation with an NPC takes 5 minutes. Every value is adjustable in the mod settings menu and anything can be set to 0 to disable it.

Features

- Player actions including reading books (opening a book), viewing your journal, repairing armour and weapons yourself, enchanting items yourself, recharging with soul gems, lockpicking and disarming traps, eating ingredients and drinking potions, brewing potions, picking herbs, looting containers, and receiving shrine blessings.

- NPC interactions including initiating a conversation, bartering, buying a spell, creating a spell spells, additional training time, using the repair service, using the enchanting service, and managing companion inventory. Conversations are counted once, so entering a service menu and returning to dialogue doesn't pass time twice.

- Survival integration if Sun's Dusk is installed. Time passes when cooking, woodcutting, brewing tea, bathing, refilling water from wells and kegs, purifying saltwater and suspicious water, building a campfire, pitching a tent, and breaking camp.

- Mining and Disenchanting integrates with Simply Mining and Disenchanting from Ownlyme's Suite, and body disposal from Quickloot.

- Immediate TimeHUD updates so that you can see the actual time and how much time has passed :)

How this mod works

Time Flies advances the game clock through smooth and small increments rather than jumping it forward in a single frame. This matters because OpenMW handles its calendar very differently from the original Morrowind engine. Mods which pass time by writing directly to GameHour through MWScript are fine in Morrowind.exe but when GameHour is written to directly in OpenMW, the entire calendar state is recalculated in that frame which produces a discontinuity in the engine's internal game time. Any other mod measuring elapsed time, such as Sun's Dusk, Magicka Regen mods, Skoomasthesia, and any other mod which times durations, will see a discontinuity as a massive spike. Depending on the math, this can produce values in the hundreds of trillions and corrupt saves.

Time Flies avoids this entirely:

- All pending time is
