The Patchwork Airship - Fleshing out a vanilla quest

There is a quest in the base game called "The Patchwork Airship," where a wizard and engineer named Louis Beauchamp sends you on a mission to investigate the fate of the airship he constructed and the crew he hired.

Personally, I had high expectations for this quest, hoping to encounter a dwemer airship and explore its interior. I assumed it would closely resemble the dwemer airship plans available in the game, especially considering that the NPC is carrying said plans.

To my disappointment, I discovered that Bethesda had simply cobbled together a dunmer ship and some dwemer bits as a lazy cop out, and that the ship had no interior at all.

Thanks to the efforts of DimNussens, who provided the necessary assets, I was able to replace the dwemer airship with a design that closely resembles the dwemer airship plans. Additionally, we created a dedicated interior for it.

While one might argue that the vanilla cobble aligns perfectly with the definition of a "patchwork" airship, it's important to note that nobody truly understands dwemer technology. Thus, our dear Louis Beauchamp has simply put something together without a real understanding of what he was doing (and with the help of magic, as we learn from dialogue). Considering this perspective, I think the new airship can still be considered a "patchwork".

Lastly, there's an optional addon that makes Louis Beauchamp look a bit more interesting and unique.

After all, he is the only one in the entire game who managed to construct an airship. Although the airship had its flaws, it did flew all the way to Solstheim, and ultimately crashed due to being caught in a severe blizzard, as we learn from Captain Roberto Jodoin's journal.

The addon has 3 different options,  and you can see how they look in the screenshots.

• []Option 1: only gives him a pair of dwemer goggles (vanilla friendly option)

  []Option 2: also gives him an elegant outfit (assets from The Plague Doctor)

• Option 3: like option 2, but also gives him a steampunkish hat.

  A little note about the outfits: does it make sense for this guy to look that fabulous?

  I think it does. I don't want to spoil anything but it seems like he built an airship, hired a crew, sent them to Sosltheim, then hired the player when the mission failed, and spent a fortune in the process just so he could get the "Amulet of Infectious Charm" and get laid, as we learn from dialogue.
