📋 About This Mod
Adds savepoints to the game. Saving is now limited to specific places.
This mod adds savepoints to the game, based on the ones in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
They are represented by floating, spinning floppy disk models.
Saving at any time is impossible. In order to save you need to walk into a savepoint which makes saving possible for a few seconds.
There is an alternate version available, with a half open book model and a pen writing sound.
The save points are placed in:
-
[]Towns (usually near the entrance, the silt strider port, the docks or the roadsign/banner), there can be multiple depending on size of the town
[
]Outside temples and imperial forts[]Outside/inside of most guildhalls
[]Inside all the Vivec City plazas
[]Some abandoned houses or other areas fitting for squatting (abandoned shack, island near Khuul)
[]Before areas with boss fights
[]Before paths of no return (Areas inside Mortrag Glacier)
[]Central places in Mournhold dungeons (Various sewers, Norenen-dur, Bamz-Amschend)
[]A few are placed in Sotha Sil, as you cannot leave it before beating the boss fights
[]Some other important places (Castle Kaarstag, outside Caius' House)
I haven't tested most of these, so please inform me if a save point is placed incorrectly or if there are any other problems.
Some technical stuff on how this works:
The game has a global value that is used during character creation that's called "ChargenState".
Having it at 1 teleports you on the boat with your menus and controls disabled, then its set to 10 up until you finish the chargen.
Having it above 0 after character generation makes the game behave weirdly and disables your menus.
If it is precisely -1, it means you can save.
Having it below -1, has it so you can't save but the game still functions normally. That's how I made it work.
