Retrosound

Gives Morrowind a different yet close to home vibe. For those who want to try something new while still preserving the nostalgic atmosphere overall.

More retro in some parts, but the same early 2000s design aesthetic is preserved overall, without going too much retro (like NES levels of retro) or too much modern. Uses sounds that are closely based on some of the other games from the time period, mainly Final Fantasy 11 and .hack series, and is modular.

A spiritual successor to FSR - Footsteps Retrofication. Right now, only Footsteps sounds and Magic sounds are available.

Recommended Companions:

Character Sound Overhaul - for the CSO version of the footsteps to work on VanillaMW.

openmw-footsteps - for the CSO version of the footsteps to work on OpenMW.

Cutting Room Floor - for all of the magic effects to work properly. Will work without it, you would just not hear some of the new sounds.

Nifty Elemental Magic Sounds - an elemental magic sound overhaul that tries to preserve the retro feeling of the game too in its own way. Not required, just a good sound mod overall. Use this if you find some of my replacement choices lacking.
