📋 About This Mod

Total sound FX overhaul of freddyk's "Vader" mod.

This mod is mostly working as intended with a few points of consideration. Firstly, when it comes to modding, especially lua, I'm a complete noob. With that said, this is one of my first lua mods I created with a little help from the experts. How does this mod work and how should you use it? You will need an OpenMW version 0. 48+, preferably a nightly build. Then, you will need to install freddyk's original "Vader" mod Vader Mod DV - English Version at Morrowind Nexus - mods and community (nexusmods.com). After that, install my mod and overwrite everything. Activate the esp and omwscripts in the launcher.

Now, for those points of consideration. Again, I'm a noob, but the mod works well enough for you to enjoy a completely new and very immersive experience as a Jedi in Morrowind! However, in order for this to have been made compatible with my other weapon sound FX mod Combat Sounds Overhaul at Morrowind Nexus - mods and community (nexusmods.com) I had to do something interesting. Lua scripting can be very delicate and finicky, so what I had to do is contain all of the new lightsaber weapon sounds, both swing and hit FX, into one folder. That means whenever you swing the lightsaber you'll notice either swing and/or hit FX could get activated randomly. This may seem immersion breaking if you swing at nothing and still hear a hit sound, but I simply could not figure out how to separate both hit and swing files into individual folders without breaking "CSO". Besides, when you're swinging your lightsaber it will most likely be while fighting someone and you won't notice this detail all that much in the heat of battle anyway. The new sound FX will blend and still seem very natural during combat. The other minor caveat, do not unequip the lightsaber from the menu while you're wielding it, otherwise the lightsaber "hum" will continue to play on a loop. Sheath your lightsaber first, and then unequip it. Other than that this is a completely bad arse mod that you should totally download and play. If you find any other issues or have suggestions on how to rewrite the scripting to address these issues please let me know!

I play this along with "Combat Sounds Overhaul" and load the "SaberSoundz.omwscripts" before "CSO", and load the "Vader" mod after "CSO". It should work in any order however.
