Redoran Architecture Reimagined

It was about time, right?

For this one, i choose a less darker color palette that i think is more pleasant to look at but still remains believable giving the rough environment.

House Redoran is known for it's practicality versus adorning, so i keep it simple.

"Decoration is understated — emphasizing function over form"

The exception is the interiors of important members of the community (like council houses). There, i replaced the floral tiles (more in common to a Victorian house decor than anything else) and replaced it with the more lore friendly stone reliefs depicting the tribunal, military settings and house symbology.

When ornamentation appears, it usually has tribal or ancestral motifs, such as banners displaying the Redoran crest (a stylized crab or shield emblem). An elite Redoran’s manor or council hall could include carved stone or chitin reliefs as solemn tributes to history, ancestors, or faith.

Technical Info

This retexture covers most redoran textures. The textures are 2k and normal mapped. Works with the vanilla engine and OpenMW.

As a separate download, you can install the specular maps for the vanilla OpenMW shader.

I also included an alternative version that matches the colors of the vanilla textures. However, you need to install the main mod first.

Included also are the two ATLAS files (tx_redoran_atlas and tx_redwall_atlas). Both ATLAS are also normal mapped and specular mapped.

Recommended settings for the specular maps (settings.cfg):

force shaders = true

clamp lighting = false

force per pixel lighting = true

light bounds multiplier = 5

lighting method = shaders

I also recommend Improved Lights for All Shaders.

Important Notes

Make sure you don't have _nh.dds files from other mods that may override the normal maps of this mod.

Q: Does this work with vanilla Morrowind?

A: The textures are seamless. Unfortunately, the redoran house meshes (although beautiful) are particularly terrible at joining textures in a seamless way. So, there is nothing i can do. If some mesh wizard out there has the time to fix them, it would be great and would increase the im
